Sony may be considering pitching its upcoming flagship Xperia Z4 in a new Bond movie “Spectre”, the filming of which has already begun. A picture supposedly that of Sony’s Xperia Z4, was spotted in a leaked email.
The email in question was sent by George Lyon, executive vice president of Sony’s marketing division, to Michael Lynton, CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment. The email contained preliminary designs of Sony’s upcoming smartphones mentioned in the email as “the new Z4 Phones”. It also states, “These phones are the planned phones for MAY/NOVEMBER of 2015”.
According to latest rumors, the Sony Xperia Z4 is expected to be announced at the CES 2015 to be held in January. Since more than one phone is mentioned in the email, it is possible that the phones mentioned in it are the Sony Xperia Z4 Compact and Xperia Z4 Ultra which are now supposed to launch in the second quarter of 2015.
The email contains “visuals of the new Z4 Phones”. In the renders, only one device shows up properly. It is a slim handset looking like an Xperia device but with slight changes compared to the current flagship Xperia Z3, although this design may not be the final one.
Earlier it was rumored that the Xperia Z4 would feature a 5.4-inch screen but later it was leaked that it would have a 5.2-inch display like its predecessor, the Xperia Z3. So nothing is certain. We will keep you posted about new details as and when we receive them.
