As promised, Sony’s new “smartphone for selfies”, the Xperia C3 is here. Earlier, Sony had tweeted that it would reveal its new selfie smartphone on 8th July 2014. The device has now gone official and its detailed features and specs are out.
The main highlight of the Xperia C3 is its 5MP PROselfie front-facing camera with 25 mm wide angle lens, auto mode and soft LED flash. The camera has selfie apps by which you can make changes to your photo. After you snap your pic, you can add AR effects to add some fun to your photo. For instance, you can add a moustache, spects or a pirate cap or you can add a variety of beauty styles to your photo with the portrait retouch app.
Other specs include a 5.5-inch 1280 x 720p HD display with Sony’s Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. The device is powered by 1.2GHz Qualcomm Quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU with Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage expandable up to 32GB with MicroSD card slot. There is an 8MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash. The rear camera has Sony’s Exmor RS technology. The handset boasts of a 2500 mAh battery and runs Android 4.4 KitKat.
The dimensions of Xperia C3 are 156 x 78.5 x 7.6 mm and it weighs 150g. It is LTE (4G) enabled. It also has a dual SIM version that supports both dual call and dual standby. The handset is available in three color options namely White, Mint and Black.
The Xperia C3 will first hit the Chinese markets next month with other international markets following soon. The pricing details are yet to be announced.
