Just a day before the big announcement at IFA Berlin 2014 it seems like someone has got his hands on the new Sony Xperia Z3 prototype with its specifications sheet attached to it. Z3 when compared to Z2 has just some differences.
Xperia Z3 is runs on powerful Snapdragon 801 which has a quad-core MSM8974AC, clocked at 2.5 GHz, the same which Galaxy S5 is having. The phone packs 3GB RAM with 16GB built-in storage with an option of expanding with micro-SD card. The device has a full HD 1080px Triluminos display with 5.2 inch screen. According to Sony Z3 has ability to hit 600 nits of peak brightness enabling it have best outdoor visibility.
Z3 has the same 20MP rear camera as its predecessor Z2 having an ability of recording 4K video with ISO up to 3200, and stills with ISO up to the staggering 12800. On the audio side it has stereo speakers and digital noise cancellation technology from Z2.The new phone is also IP55/IP58 dust and waterproof certified.
The biggest difference we see between Z2 and Z3 are its dimensions. The new version has 146.5 x 72.4 x 7.5mm dimensions compared to 146.8 x 73.3 x 8.2 mm of that of Z2 but Z3 is slimmer. The slimming of the chassis has affected the battery capacity of the phone. The successor has 3100 mAH cell which is 100 less than Z2. But still Sony states that it has 2 Day battery backup.
