Specs of Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and 8.4 leak hours ahead of official launch

Just yesterday we spotted the Samsung Galaxy Tab S wrapping itself in flip-covers. Today when Samsung is going to make the announcement of the duo tablets today, @evleaks has leaked the tablets with its specifications.

Both the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Galaxy Tab S 8.4 will have a WQXGA resolution of 2560×1600 pixels with 288ppi and 359ppi density respectively. However, both the devices will come in two different chipset variants for LTE and Wi-Fi versions. the LTE variant will offer a Snapdragon 800 chipset with a 2.3GHz quad-core Krait CPU while the Wi-Fi variant will pack a Exynos 5 Octa Chipset with quad 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 and quad 1.9GHz Cortex A15. All these versions will have 3GB of RAM, 16/32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot with 128GB of expandable memory.

Both the tablets have a 8MP camera at the back and a 2.1MP camera at the front. Both the tablets are extremely slim measuring just 6.6mm in width. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 weighs just 294 grams while the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 weighs just 465 grams.

The larger Galaxy Tab S with 10.5” screen offers a larger 7900mAh of battery backup while the 8.4” tablets has a bit smaller 4900mAh. Both the tablets will be available in two color options of white and dark grey. Well, in some time the devices would be unveiled at a live event.

More Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 images leaked online

A set of official-looking images of the Samsung’s new generation AMOLED tablet have been shared by @evleaks showing a dark gray Galaxy Tab S 10.5 from multiple angles.

Once again, bottom bezel of the tablet features a physical home button flanked by two capacitative buttons, per standard Samsung style. The back is rocking the same stippled look as the Galaxy S5 and has a camera positioned smack dab at the top of the tablet. Specs aren’t known, but the images reveal dual speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, charging port, and a microSD card slot.

 The leaked image pointing a rear camera and an LED flash along with what appears to be an IR blaster above the sensor. The two circles at the bottom left and right is a bit of a mystery as to what they represent.

Other specs rumored to be included with the Galaxy Tab S include a 2560×1600 AMOLED display, Exynos 5 Octa-core 5420 chipset with 1.9 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 and 1.3 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPUs.They’re bundled with an 533MHz ARM Mali-T628 and 3GB of RAM, while internal memory is 32GB.  It will cost around €565.

Samsung is expected to take the wraps off of its new Galaxy Tab S hardware at a “Tab Into Color” event on June 12 in New York. We’ll be there at the launch to bring you the play-by-play as the event unfolds.
