Few days back, Chinese giant Xiaomi announced its premium flagship Xiaomi Mi4 which hosts some very exquisite specs making it the fastest smartphone in the world currently.

The Xiaomi Mi4 comes with some high-end specs that includes a quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset clocked at 2.5GHz, 3GB of RAM memory, an 13MP primary camera with new Sony IMX214 sensors having aperture f/1.8 and a whopping battery capacity of 3080mAh. The Xiaomi Mi4 when compared with many premium flagship available in the market, delivers an at par performance from others.

Well, the major attraction for Xiaomi smartphones is its pricing their devices come with! The Xiaomi Mi4 comes with extremely affordable price tag of $320 for its 16GB memory variant and 64GB variant of the device comes at a price of $400. The device is likely to be made available in China next month and we soon expect the international roll-out of the device from the company.

Just yesterday we spotted Xiaomi unveiling its premium flagship Mi4 in an event in Beijing. Well, many would wonder why Xiaomi had just kept the camera to 13MP like the previous Mi3. But let us tell you that the camera of the Xiaomi Mi4 hosts a 13MP camera with more powerful Sony IMX214 sensors which is a BSI stacked CMOS sensor with 1/3.06” size and a wide f/1.8 aperture. The earlier Sony Mi3 hosted an IMX135 sensor found in most of the premium flagships these days.

The new Sony sensor comes with lot of upgradations like better sensitivity in low-light photography, less cross-talk and significantly improved real-time video HDR which comes with faster speeds and is implemented with the new SME-HDR technology. The new camera sensor also makes the camera module slimmer compared to its previous one with better backlight results. The new powerful camera of the Xiaomi Mi4 can lock focus in just 0.3 seconds compared to the 0.6 to 0.8 seconds time required by the previous Xiaomi Mi3 camera. Well, so the surety of you never missing out some special moments go stronger. The Xiaomi Mi4 comes with a closed-loop focus system which enables speedy auto-focus acquisition. With the new camera sensor, the images with low-light shooting with flash have also improved and even produces more natural colors in flashless shot.

Now talking about its front camera, the company has come up with a powerful 8MP primary Sony IMX219 sensor which offers 80 degree field view with f/1.8 aperture. Well, this makes it a very powerful camera for selfie freaks. Moreover, Xiaomi has also offered several filters and effects that overlay on the top of images. Xiaomi Mi4 goes official as the fastest smartphone: Images, Press Renders and Video

Well, the day has finally arrived and Xiaomi has officially voiced its much awaited Xiaomi Mi4 today at an event in Beijing. Lei Jun, Chief Executive of Xiaomi took the center stage to break the covers of the company’s new flagship Xiaomi Mi4 that comes with a premium quality design with a metal frame and chamfered edges.

The Xiaomi Mi4 comes with a 5inch Full HD 1080p display and is powered with a very powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC clocked up to 2.5GHz. The device comes with a whopping 3GB of RAM which allows the company to claim it to be the fastest smartphone available on the planet at the moment.

The Xiaomi Mi4 comes with a 13Mp primary camera with f/1.8 shooter of Sony sensors and is capable of recording 4k video. The front camera has been lifted to a great extent from its predecessor and measure 8MP which too comes with Sony sensors and an 80 degree wide angle lens. The device comes in two memory options with 16/64 GB of internal storage of eMMC 5.0 kind. The handset runs the latest available Android 4.4.2 KitKat topped with the company’s own MIUI v6. The handset comes with sufficiently large battery of 3080mAh and sustains for a day and a half. The device supports a quick charging at 9V/1.2A or 5V/2A which charges up to 60% of the battery is just an hour.

The handset is priced for just $320 (1999 yuan) for the 16GB model and $400 (2999 yuan) for the 64GB model. The company is going very strong these days with record breaking 26.1 milion sales of its handsets in its own country in the first quarter of 2014.
