Xiaomi Redmi 1S with Dual LTE leaks in images

Just yesterday we told you about Xiaomi coming up with its Dual LTE Redmi 1S on January 4^th. Today some more images of the handset have been leaked out. The handset is said to be able to connect with 4G LTE networks for China Telecom and China Unicom along with the 4G LTE pipeline for China Mobile.

The Dual LTE Redmi 1S is said to have gone both slimmer and lighter. The original Xiaomi Redmi 1S was measuring 9.9mm of thickness and weighed just 158 grams whereas the new Xiaomi Redmi 1S 4G LTE is said to measure 9.2mm of thickness weighing 132 grams. The new handset would be available in multitude of colors like purple, blue, white, orange, black, green and yellow.

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S with dual LTE is said to have a 4.6inch display with 720p resolution and would bake a 64 bit Snapdragon 410 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz. the memory options would include a 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage along with microSD card slot for expandable memory. To its back, a 8MP primary snapper is placed while the front dons a 2MP secondary camera. The device would be running the Android 4.4 KitKat skinned with the company’s own MIUI and the battery capacity of the device is said to be 2200mAh.

40,000 Xiaomi Redmi 1S will be available via Flipkart on September 2

Redmi 1S is all set to continue the strong momentum for Xiaomi in the Indian market. Xiaomi Mi 3 was the first taste of what the Chinese mega-brand can do when it sets its mind on a most important Asian market.

Xiaomi India has already announced the availability of 40,000 units of Redmi 1S on Flipkart for its first flash sale on September 2. It is all about providing Xiaomi experience to anyone who can afford a basic smartphone. It’s priced at an aggressive Rs 5,999, though boasting the specs of phones priced around Rs 15,000-Rs 25,000 by the big-name brands.

The Redmi 1S is having 4.7-inch display with 720x1280p IPS-LCD resolution powered by 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI v5 skinned on top. The company has already promised an upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat with MIUI v6 towards the end of the year. In terms of build quality, we conclude smartphone to be much better than the Moto E, which is its nearest price competitor.

Xiaomi’s Redmi 1S also includes 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with flash; 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera; 8GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB), and 2000mAh battery.

Xiaomi has provided all the bangs and whistles of MIUI from the Mi 3. It has added features like as an LED notification light (cleverly placed right under the capacitive home button), and USB on-the-go support for quickly transferring files from the pen drive.

The Chinese smartphone maker has enjoyed much success in India with its Mi 3 flash sales, and with as many as 20,000 units going out of stock in under 3 seconds in several such sales.

The online flash sale flagship seems to have worked out very well for the debutants, which said it had sold over 95,000 units since the smartphone’s launch in India in late-July.

Xiaomi mobiles are lot about embracing the ecosystem around its cloud services, messaging app and the multitude of customisation options, more so than just any other Android device. Now it remains to seen whether Redmi 1S can withstand the abuse of daily use and when intensive apps come into the picture.
