New Software Update on ZTE Blade S6 will include Iris Scanner Called Sky Eye

The latest software update for ZTE Blade S6 will include an iris scanning feature to the device. This means that users will be able to unlock the device by using their iris. This new feature is named Sky Eye and it does not available out of the box therefore, when you purchase the device, the first thing that you must do is to download and install the software update if you want to use the iris scanning feature for security purposes.

Before installing the update, users are advisable to clear the cache memory and use the Wi-Fi connection to download the update. The device needs to have at least 30% battery life before starting the update process. All these steps are as per ZTE recommendation in order to ensure that the feature is installed properly into the device.

ZTE Blade S6 comes with a 5-inch display screen size with a resolution of 720 x 1280 and a pixel density of 294ppi. It is powered on an octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC which clocked at 1.7GHz, an Adreno 405 GPU, a 2GB RAM as well as 16GB internal storage. Other features such as 2400 mAh battery size, a 13MP rear camera as well as a 5MP front camera.  The device will come pre-installed with a MiFavour 3.0 UI which built on top of Android 5.0.

ZTE Three New Affordable Phones to be released for Sale in Late 2015

ZTE, a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer, recently unveiled not only one but three editions of new affordable phones which are going to be on sale in late 2015. The three mobile phones are ZTE V3 Youth Edition, ZTE V3 Energy Edition and ZTE V3 Extreme Edition. All the three edition of ZTE V3 will come with an aluminum body as well as fingerprint scanner, the two must have features in the current mobile phones.

All the three editions will be compatible with 4G LTE bands for China, however, it is still unknown whether they will be or will not be compatible with the western carriers. On top of that, all the editions will be powered by Snapdragon 615 with octa-core CPU chipset and the screen size will be a 5.5-inch FHD with resolution of 1080p as well as 3000mAh battery size. Other features such as a 2GB RAM, a 16GB internal storage which can be expanded to 128GB via microSD, a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Although there are more similarities than differences, the three editions will be different in terms of their connectivity options and some rumors mentioned that the Extreme Edition will come with some bonus accessories.

As for the pricing, the Youth Edition will be priced at $160; the Energy Edition will be priced at $210 while the Extreme Edition will be priced at $240.

ZTE Blade D6 Mid Range Android Phone Which Looks Like iPhone 6

ZTE Blade D6 is a mid-range Android phone which looks like Blade S6 and Blade S6 Plus which was released earlier this year, which means ZTE Blade D6 will be look like Apple iPhone 6. For the physical appearance, ZTE Blade 6 body is made of aluminum and it is 6.9mm thickness.  The device has a 5-inch IPS LCD display screen size with resolution of 720 x 1280 and about 294ppi.

ZTE Blade D6 will be running on 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MTK6735 processor which clocked at 1.3GHZ, a 2GB RAM as well a 16GB internal memory which can be expanded further by microSD card. Other features such as Bluetooth, GPS, LTE connectivity, dual-SIM capabilities as well as a 2200 mAh battery size. There are two cameras integrated on the smartphone, the front camera is a 5MP while the rear camera is a 13MP. As for the software part, D6 will be pre-installed with ZTE’s own MiFavour 3.2UI built on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop.

ZTE Blade D6 will be available starting from next month. It offers a few color options such as pink, gold, gray and silver. However, there is no further information released on the selling price of the device. Normally, it will be released nearer to the launch date.

ZTE Star 3 Could Be the World’s First Smartphone with 4K display

Sharp recently announced that the company is coming up with a smartphone which has 4K display. However, the company said that it is going to be ready for mass production in 2016. A few days ago, ZTE is planning to launch the world’s first smartphone with a 4K display with the codename of ZTE Star 3 which probably going to happen soon enough.

According to the rumor, ZTE Star 3 will have 5.5-inch display with resolution of 2160 x 3840 pixels and 806ppi.The smartphone also will be using TFT Panel with a special crystal structure which is aimed to reduce the power consumption while making the display to be more vibrant. On top of that, the smartphone will have narrow bezels with a measurement of 0.55mm thick.

There are a few image leaked which is believed to be image of ZTE Star 3 showing a smartphone with a curved back, bezel-less display as well as a dual camera setup.

Although, it might be difficult to differentiate Full HD and Quad HD display on smartphone, therefore, it is more difficult to see a 4K display quality on a smartphone as the size of the image of the smartphone is relatively small. It is only when we zoom in the picture a few times then we could see whether the image will break at some point. Definitely, if it is a 4K display, the image will only break when we zoom in a few times more than when we zoom in the same image on Full HD or Quad HD display. Nevertheless, we are very excited to try it when it is launched.

ZTE Star 3 Could Be the World’s First Smartphone with 4K display

The 5-inch ZTE Nubia Z9 mini introduced in India for $267

ZTE has launched Nubia Z9 mini, a smaller and affordable version of its Nubia Z9 flagship in India. This is the first smartphone under the company’s Nubia brand to be made available in India. The handset is being offered exclusively through Amazon India at a price of Rs. 16,999 equivalent to US$ 267. It is available at Amazon through open sale, no flash sales or pre-registration or anything.

The ZTE  Nubia Z9 mini boasts of a 5-inch full HD display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and 441 ppi. It has a Sharp CGS (Continuous Grain Silicon) IPS OGS screen with Corning Gorilla Glass III protection. Under the hood, it has a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and an Adreno 405 graphics processor.

Memory options include 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. . A 16MP camera having a Sony IMX234 Exmor RS sensor, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash, is present at the back of the phone. On the front, there is an 8MP camera with Sony IMX179 Exmor R sensor, f/2.4 aperture and an 80 degree wide angle lens. The phone has a 3000mAh battery for power and supports 4G LTE connectivity. It comes with pre-installed Android 5.0 Lollipop topped with ZTE’s Nubia UI 2.8.

The device measures 141.3×69.8×8.2mm and weighs 147g. Other connectivity options it offers are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPS/ A-GPS Bluetooth 4.0 and Micro-USB with OTG The device is currently available in Black color.

The Chinese phone maker has not revealed whether plans to launch other smartphones under the Nubia brand in India.

ZTE introduces Blade S6 touted as world’s first phone with Snapdragon Octa-Core chipset running Android 5.0 Lollipop

Chinese phone maker ZTE has recently introduced its newest mid-ranger, the Blade S6. The smartphone looks a lot like Apple’s iPhone 6 and its name resembles Samsung’s next flagship, the Galaxy S6. However, Blade S6 is much more affordable and has some decent specs.

Taking a look at the specs, ZTE’s new phone sports a 5-inch 720p HD display, a Qualcomm 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core chipset (MSMM8939) and Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, 16GB of internal storage with microSD card slot, a 13MP Sony IMX214 primary and a 5MP front-facing one. The Blade S6 is powered by a 2,400mAh battery and comes with 4G LTE and dual-SIM capabilities. The handset runs the latest Android Lollipop.

Other features include dimensions of 144 x 70.7 x 7.7mm, Hi-Fi sound as well as ZTE’s Smart Sense gesture motion control, MiFavor 3.0 user interface and AliveShare app for network-less communication.

“With its small package and powerful capabilities, the Blade S6 is the dream device for the socially active consumers and a clear demonstration of ZTE’s ability to offer a premium smartphone at an affordable price,” said Adam ZENG Xuezhong, Executive VP of ZTE.

The Blade S6 is available in Silver and Pink matte finish and has a price tag of $249.99. The phone will be available globally online at AliExpress. It will also be available through Amazon and eBay in select markets.

ZTE Nubia Z9 leaked snapshots

After a successful launch of Nubia X6 last year, ZTE is on the verge to unveil its new flagship Nubia Z9. The leaked images confirms the handset built having razor thin bezels which are almost invisible.

The ZTE Nubia Z9 will come with 1080 x 1920 p display powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 805, but that’s just speculation for the moment. With 3GB of RAM and a rear camera with OIS, we can obviously place the Nubia Z9 in flagship smartphone category.

It’s too early for more substantial details about Nubia Z9 to come since the snapshots are of a prototype. Infact ZTE is yet to put this smartphone into mass production and it might update the design layout in future. Stay tuned to Doi-Toshin for further updates about Nubia Z9.

ZTE Tablet with Dual-SIM Feature Passed FCC

Dual-SIM smartphones are a common sight in the market. However, a Dual-SIM tablet is rarely found in the market. One of the examples of a tablet with two SIM card slots is Asus Fonepad 7.  However, ZTE (fairly popular China-based manufacturers) are going to release another tablet which offers two-SIM capability.

The device is recently reported has passed through FCC and most likely will be arriving in USA in the near future. Known with the name of ZTE tablet K70, apart with the dual-SIM support, it will also support WCDMA and GSM connectivity. It is also certified to use on WiFi 802.11 b/g/n networks in 2.4GHz.  It is expected that the device will be introduced like a larger phone instead of a tablet.

The device is rumored to have a 7-inch screen with HD/Full HD resolution, a polycarbonate casing, a front camera, sensors and a earpiece.  It will be pre-installed with Android 4.4.x. The body will most probably make of plastic with a lifted ridge on the side.  The device is also rumored to run on something like Snapdragon 400 CPU inside and a 1 or 2GB RAM memory size.

Lastly, there is no further information about the pricing of the device, but, we are expecting it to fall below $200 range.

ZTE"s Nubia X6 phablet sold out in less than ten seconds

ZTE is boasting that it sold out the first slot of Nubia X6 phablet units in less than ten seconds (9.8 to be precise). This is even faster than some of the records held by Xiaomi. Last year Xiaomi sold out 200,000 units of its M2S in just 45 seconds.

ZTE’s crafty “hunger marketing” tactic is particularly popular in China and involves releasing a hyped device online in limited stock which leads to a quick sellout. Unfortunately, we don’t know the size of Nubia X6 batch but chances are it includes no less than 10,000 units, perhaps even more.

The Nubia X6 is a rock-solid phablet with top-notch specs that includes a 6.44-inch full HD screen, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core chip, 2GB of RAM, dual 13-megapixel cameras and a 4,250 mAh battery. The rear camera has Optical Image Stabilization, auto-focus and flash; the front-facing one also has auto-focus allowing users to take some great selfies(the first phone to get this features).

 

Nubia X6 manages to have a slim profile having only a 7.99 thin metallic body. It also has narrow bezels allowing its display to look good. Another exceptional feature of this device is that it is coming with three mics for noise cancellation.This greatly improves its call quality.

ZTE has scheduled the next Nubia X6 flash sale for May 27 at 10am local time, but once again, sales will be limited to China.The smartphone is priced at CNY 2,999 ($481).
