Sony Xperia Cosmos may be launched as Xperia C4

A couple of images of the unannounced selfie-centric Sony Xperia Cosmos had been leaked earlier this month on Twitter by the famed leakster @upleaks. At the time, it was assumed to be the successor to Sony Xperia C3 because of its large selfie camera in the front with LED flash.

Sony Xperia C3 ‘PROselfie’ phone released last year is the first and only Sony smartphone to have a front-facing 5MP camera with LED flash. It looks like the assumption was correct. @upleaks has now posted in its twitter account that Sony Xperia Cosmos will be launched in the market as Sony Xperia C4.

Not much is known about this new Xperia Cosmos/ Xperia C4 phone except that it will be powered by a MediaTek processor and will run Android 5.0 lollipop out of the box topped  with Sony’s lightweight custom UI. As mentioned earlier, it is a selfie-centric phone with a big front- facing camera having LED flash. However, it is not known if it will be a 5MP snapper like its predecessor, the Xperia C3, or a more powerful one.

The Xperia C4 will also probably be a mid-range device like the C3 and may have 4G LTE support. Sony hasn’t disclosed any information about the device but as the Xperia C3 was launched in July last year, the new Xperia C4 may also be unveiled this year somewhere around that time.

HTC – Event Invitation on 8 October 2014

HTC has invited press to their event on 8 October 2014 in New York City. The details of the invitation are not released to the public and thus we are left with speculation.

The press invitation shows two women allegedly taking a selfie while holding an HTC One (M8) along with a couple of green boxes. On the top right corner of the invitation, it was printed ‘Double exposure’. With hints from the invitation cover, we anticipate that HTC will unveil their next generation of smart phone. The smart phone should be able to take our own selfie with a better quality than HTC One. Since HTC One has been featured once, it might not be possible for it to be featured for the second time.

There were rumours that HTC will be announcing HTC Eye in this event. But of course, it was just our speculation, we can be wrong. However, it is clearly has something to do with photography, smart phones and selfie.

HTC Eye was already in testing phase at AT&T back in July and thus there is speculation that the device will be launched in the fourth quarter of this year. However, once again we need to emphasize that all these is just our speculation. We can be wrong.

Sony is coming with perfume-shaped selfie smartphone

Sony has recently launched the Sony Xperia C3. With its 5MP front-facing snapper, the smartphone is being labeled as a “selfie”-centric handset. While the model being new, another “selfie” model from Sony might be on the way. An odd looking handset with the Sony brand has been the subject of some leaked snapshots.

The device is called the Sony DSC-KW1. It has a literal selfie camera that looks like a Xperia phone with the cap of an expensive perfume bottle attached to its top, and a back that’s styled like a bottle itself. The smartphone appears to have no buttons, and extremely thin bezels, that isn’t the part of the phone that seems so strange.

The device’s body houses a 3.3-inch OLED display, while the top part houses a 19.2 megapixel camera with Sony’s latest Exmor RS sensor technology. The 21mm f2.0 camera lens can be rotated 180 degrees, capturing the beauty of its (mostly female, we assume) users from every angle.

The camera has built-in Wi-Fi and NFC connections, and it records 1080p video. There are touch slide shutter, self-timer, instant share, and smartphone control functions built in. Also the camera apparently turns from side to side in order to cover both front-facing and rear-facing photos.

Incredible! But seriously, does it appears a perfume bottle? It seems that Chinese ladies are really into decorating their phones with cases that look like premium Chanel perfumes, so Sony decided to go ahead and supply to this growing customer niche. Moreover, the smartphone’s price is absolutely nuts–5,199 yuan ($843).

Sony Xperia C3 “Selfie” phone launching today, leaked video and photos showing front camera and LED Flash!

It’s confirmed. Sony’s new “selfie” smartphone is launching today, 8 July. Sony has announced on Twitter “See your #selfies in a whole new light “and posted a picture below it showing a group of people taking a selfie, the photo having hashtags – #GetTheFullPicture #Tomorrow  8^th July 2014.

Selfie is trending so why should Sony lag behind? The new selfie phone has a powerful front camera to take pictures with great clarity. The source says that Sony’s new selfie smartphone will be called the Xperia C3 (code name Gina), a successor of Xperia C. Xperia C3 is touted to have an LED flash near the front camera and be powered by a 2500 mAh battery. However, the resolution of the shooter is not yet known.

The device will sport a 5-inch display although its resolution is not known. The internal details of the new Xperia C3 are also unavailable. According to the source, the Xperia C3 will be offered in several colors including black and turquoise. The pic below shows the phone in turquoise color.

A video of the Sony Xperia C3 has also been leaked (posted by Gizmobolt) in which we can see the front camera and the LED flash in action. The man taking the selfie taps the phone twice on the back to take the snap. The phone has a photo editing app by which he makes changes to the pic including changes in the color of his eyes.
