Rumors show Apple working on a 4-inch iPhone and 12.9inch iPad for 2015

Well, earlier this year Apple released its 4.7inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5inch iPhone 6 Plus that is still the largest selling device in the market. However, in case you are missing the 4inch iPhone, we would like to let you know that your wait could end in the coming year. Recently Apple Investors received a note from analyst Timothy Arcuri that claims that the company is currently working on a possible “iPhone 6s mini” which would having the same design pattern as that of the iPhone 6 and would deliver the power like that of iPhone 5s. This means that the successor to the not so successful iPhone 5c could be coming next year. Rumors also say that Apple might make use of Qualcomm chipset to reduce its cost.

Apple went to its big sized screen for its iPhone 6 looking at the customer demands but it seems that the company is yet not ready to remove its 4inch option. For all the Apple loyalists who have loved the 4inch smartphones from the company having a smaller form factor, this could prove to be a freat news for them and that too at some cheaper cost.

In addition to the smart, Acruri has also suggested that the Cupertino giant is also currently working on a 12.9inch iPad that could be released some time in Spring 2015. According to the analyst this larger tablet with fresh new look could turn out to be hot selling device for the company with a 15 to 20 million of initial shipments. However, earlier this month there were rumors for a 12.2 inch iPad Air Plus from Apple with a possible release in Q2 of 2015.

Talking a more about the internal hardware for the device, it offers the new Apple A8X chipset with a 64-bit architecture involving 3 billion transistors in it that is a billion more as found in the iPhoe 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. This Apple A8X chipset is believed to be manufactured using a 20nm process. Considering it from the performance point of view, the A8X chipset from Apple performs 40% faster as compared to the A7 chipset found in the iPad Air. There is a considerable jump that comes in the GPU performance with nearly 2.5 times faster speeds. This means all the graphic intensive tasks like gaming and much more are going to be handled in a butterly smooth way. The GPU is combined with Metal APIS delivering nearly 10 times better performance. An additional M8 motion co-processor along with the A8X chipset has been baked for handling motion control more effectively and smoothly. The Apple iPad Air 2 also has a Touch ID fingerprint sensor in support with the latest released Apple Pay.

The entire image capturing experience of this new 8MP primary camera gets a boost with a powerful image signal processor that comes built-in into the Apple A8X chipset. Apple has always been ahead in providing some very strong connectivity options along with its devices and the story remains the same for this iPad Air 2. The new Apple iPad Air 2 has twice as fast as the existing Wi-Fi 802.11 connection with MIMO support offering download speeds up to 866Mbps. The cellular modem for the tablet offers 20 4G LTE bands offering downlinks speeds up to 150Mbps. The tablet also has a new Apple SIM card that comes pre-installed that allows its users to easily chose between different carriers which gives users a flexibility to choose the best carrier with best plans. This can also be used to grab local data card during roaming and allows to have local tariffs.

Talking further regarding the battery life of the device, Apple claims that the Apple iPad Air 2 offers enough battery juice for 10 hours of long operation. This was the same for the previous iPad Air but however considering that this version (iPad Air 2) has gone out to be considerably slimmer, we can say that Apple has really worked well to manage it. The Apple iPad Air 2 is available in its three standard color options of white, space grey and gold. The price for the device remains almost the same as that for the first version at launch and the pre-orders of it have already begun. The release date for the device is tipped to be this week on October 24th.
