LG- Google team up to give LG G4 users 115GB of free cloud storage on Google Drive

LG has just announced its new flagship smartphone, the 5.5-inch LG G4 with leather back and it is set to give tough competition to Samsung’s latest flagship Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge.

Now, Samsung has partnered with Microsoft to bring Microsoft services and apps to its Android phones Galaxy S6 and S6 edge which also includes OneDrive among others. Since Google’s partners have to include the entire suit of Google apps in their phones, Google’s Drive got competition from OneDrive in these Samsung phones from the word go.

The Samsung-Microsoft deal also includes 100GB of extra free cloud storage space to Galaxy S6 and S6 edge users on OneDrive for a period of 2 years, which takes the total free storage space to 115GB. Not to lag behind, Google has partnered with LG to provide the exact same 115GB free storage space on Google Drive on it’s recently announced LG G4 smartphone.

Google already gives Android users 15GB of storage on Google Drive and now LG G4 owners are going to get additional 100GB making it 115GB of free storage space. This was announced when LG’s officials were giving details about the new flagship.

Companies making Android phones are greatly dependent on Google for the Android OS and have to be a part of all partnership programs which Google wants. Design

At the first view, the design pattern of the LG G4 looks quite similar to its previous flagship the LG G3 with some very subtle changes to it. The new flagship is bit more rounder, slightly bigger and edgier as compared to the LG G3. The LG G4 has more ergonomic design to hold in hand with a better curvature in its height. There is a major leak coming from the hometown of LG – South Korea. The LG G4 handset has been leaked with multiple images. Some of the images shows the premium clad to be dressed in leather back cover and a image hints at the invitation sent out for the 28^th of April. Korean tech giant LG has recently sent out invitations for an event on the 28^th of April when it is expected to unveil its this year’s premium flagship the LG G4. However, there is one more flagship, the LG G4 is said to be announced a month later in April. Reports from the industry show that the LG flagship will demand its own attention avoiding direct rift with the Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9.

A Korean publication has tipped that “LG Electronics decided not to release the G4 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) exhibition in Barcelona in March.” Another LG source has explained the reason for this time frame as “Samsung usually releases its new flagship model in the first quarter of each year, and Apple in the second quarter. We need some in-between time to make a bigger splash.”

Earlier, one of the LG executives explained that “We rolled out the G3 in May last year so we do not plan to unveil the G4 at this year’s Mobile World Congress and [will] spend more time perfecting the new phone.” This means that even though LG may not waiting for a complete year to roll-out its flagship as the LG G3 was announced at May 2014, but it will have its own event for the launch and skip the announcement at the MWC 2015.

Last month, there was news regarding LG filing for a trademark application in the name of “G Pen” that aims stylus implementation for smartphones and tablets more easier. Now recent reports suggest that the company’s upcoming flagship the LG G4 would also come with a stylus implementation.

A Chinese website IT Home has reported that the Korean giant might implement stylus as a new feature for its upcoming LG G4 which we believe to be pitched against the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with S Pen. Rumors also show the LG G4 to be having a 5.3inch Quad HD display with 1440×2560 pixel resolution which is one of the most peculiar feature in the existing LG G3. The device is said to be powered with a Snapdragon 810 chipset and would be running the Android 5.0 Lollipop on-board. Additionally it is also said to up the RAM memory with 4GB RAM and the primary camera to its back would be topped up to 20.7MP. The battery capacity of the device is supposed to be nearly 3500mAh.
