Nokia Lumia 928 and Lumia 822 gets the Lumia Denim Update along with Softcard mobile payment

Microsoft has recently released its much awaited Lumia Denim update to a large number of Lumia handsets out there. Recently, the update has arrive to the Nokia Lumia 928 and the Lumia 822 and other special feature that arrives along with is the Softcard mobile payment system. Last month, HTC for its Windows based flagship One M8 showed up that it too supports the Softcard mobile payment system. Softcard that was earlier known as the ISIS is now jointly owned by T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T.

The Softcard mobile payment system requires a phone with NFC, a secured SIM card and the Softcard app. However on making payment using the Softcard, you first need to open the app and enter your PIN number. Select the card you want to use to make payment and tap on the terminal with your handset to make the payment. Softcard supports cards from American Express, Wells Fargo and Chase.

This app is currently available on the Windows Phone Store for the Verizon branded Lumia 928 and Lumia 822. This mobile payment system is supported over nearly 20000 retail locations making the purchase check out quick and easy.

The Microsoft Lumia Denim update has already started to hit some of the company’s devices in China and now its seems that the company is now planning to release this update worldwide for all its Windows Phone 8.1 handsets. Microsoft had announced this Lumia Denim update at IFA in September along with two mid-range handsets Lumia 730 and Lumia 830. The update is also expected to arrive to its other devices like the Lumia 930 and the Lumia 1520.

The Lumia Denim update quite a few improvements to Microsoft’s Google Now and Siri competitor Cortana which opens very easily just by saying “Hey, Cortana!” from any screen. The update also allows to make folders on the start screen. Some photographic improvements involve that the images can now be captured even faster and quicker than earlier. The update also facilitates to capture 4k videos with still images simultaneously and users can even extract images from the already recorder 4k video.

It seems that the company wants to make sure that most of its users get the earliest benefits of the update and so the company has now put a small video tour about the update showing some of its new features and even shows about how to get the update done on your Lumia device as an when it is available at your end.
