The rumor mill has geared up much as the Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi is said to be preparing for the launch of Xiaomi Mi5 with the device appearing in number of leaks. However, there is yet another handset from the company that is likely to make news this month. Yes! We are talking about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 which too has appeared in leaks previously. The recent reports show that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is said to go official on January 15^th.

The excellent thing is that the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is said to have and superior combination of price and specs. Sources say that the device could be priced anywhere in between $145-$160. Looking to its specs, the device is expected to have a 5.5inch display with a full HD 1080×1920 pixel resolution. The device would be powered with either 64-bit Snapdragon 615 or MediaTek MT6752 chipset. The storage options are pretty good with 2GB of RAM memory and 16GB of internal storage. The handset is expected to be running the Android 4.4 KitKat on-board topped with the MIUI interface. To its back, there is a 13MP primary shooter while its front has a 5MP secondary camera. The battery capacity of the device is said to 3100mAh.

It seems the competition in the Chinese smartphone market is heating up with days to come. Recently, rival Meizu launched it Charm Blue Note that too boasts very good specs on-board and now it seems Xiaomi is all set to take up the challenge. Back in October, we had an image which was purported to be the back panel of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. This time some images of the phablet have leaked along with some specs for the device.

The specs shows up the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 to have a 5.5inch screen with a considerable jump in its resolution having a 1080 x1920 pixels. The chipset for the device is tipped to be a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6592 chipset or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615. The device is said to be having 2GB of RAM memory with 16GB of built-in storage. To its back would be a 13MP primary camera while its front would be having a 5MP camera. The device is said to be running the Android 4.4 KitKat skinned with the company’s own MIUI 6.

However, this specs drift a bit from the previous rumors that claimed the device to be having a 3GB of RAM, a 20.7 primary snapper to its back and a 8MP front-facing selfie camera. The latest reports have claimed that the device could be launched anytime between January 21^st and January 28^th. Whereas the recently leaked images shows up the back camera sensor to be moved to the left top with a cut-out that is enough large to have a dual flash. There are no speakers grills on the back panel that shows the possibility of front-facing speakers or a grill to its bottom. However, there might be a possibility that these might at all not prove to be the back panel images of the Redmi Note 2 itself hence we would like you to take it with a pinch of salt.

Well, after being recently declared as the third largest smartphone giant, Chinese handset maker doesn’t seem to stop here and certainly has more device to be tapped in the market in coming days. The rumors for the second iteration of its famous phablet Redmi Note has already started floating in the market. Ealier, we already have heard about few specs of the Redmi Note 2 showing it to be having a 5.5-inch 1080p display powered with a probable MediaTek MT6595 octa-core chipset or the 64-bit Snapdragon 615 chipset. Additionally, the device is likely to offer a 2GB of RAM, 13MP of primary shooter to its back and a 3500mAh of battery life.

The above is the recently leaked image of the back cover of the device. However, there is no strong proof to as this is only the back cover of Redmi Note 2 but still the speculation stands in place. However, the camera module placement  seems to be quite contradictory to the previous images of the device that have leaked.
