Smartwatches are in trend right now.  Whether they are on Android or Apple Smartwatch operating system, the operating system is designed with the latest technology to deliver what the manufacturers are promising to the public. If you bought a Samsung Gear Live watch, it turns out that it can run Windows 95 on the device. It is an amazing discovery!

Corbin Davenport, a 16-year-old web developer from Georgia, has recently uploaded a video of him running Windows 95 on Samsung Gear Live smartwatch. Samsung Gear comes pre-loaded with Android 4.4W. He downloaded an apps, aDosBox x86, a simulator from Google Play Store to do it.

Samsung Gear Live comes with 512MB of RAM which is sufficient to run apps using the default operating system from Samsung. However, it turns out that it has performance issue when it tries to run the normal apps in Windows 95. On top of that, it keeps running out of memory due to the problem with emulator.

Samsung announces curved Gear S 3G smartwatch

Samsung officially unwraps its Gear S, its billionth smartwatch device launching this year. The Gear S has a few trademarks that set it apart from the crowd, including a curved 2-inch Super AMOLED display with 360×480 resolution, and a built-in 3G modem. It can let the wearable receive notification and messages, and even make and receive calls without any smartphone involved.

The Gear S is basically a wrist-mounted smartphone, which is not something new to the industry. Samsung’s innovative strength is Tizen-powered Samsung Gear 2 and Gear Neo devices, and also has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, in addition to its cellular communication. The Gear S’s hardware design is more impressive, as we’re finally able to see displays that wrap around the contours of the wrist, rather than sticking out as a traditional flat surface.

On the software side, the Gear S has HERE navigation offered by Nokia, as well as Spritz speed-reading. It also contains GPS sensors, an accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, barometer, UV detection and a heart rate monitor. In terms of specifications, it’s packing 4GB of internal storage and 512MB of RAM with a dual-core 1.0 GHz processor. It has IP67 dust and water resistance, and a relatively small 300mAh battery, which Samsung promises to get it 2 days of usage under normal conditions.

Samsung is also launching the Gear Circle headset alongside the new wearable. The device pairs with a smartphone, using Bluetooth, to allow you to take calls, listen to music, and make voice commands. A vibrating alert tells you when a notification or a call is coming through, and a magnetic lock clips around the users neck when the Gear Circle is not being used.

Both the Samsung Gear S and Samsung Gear Circle will be available starting in October through the usual Samsung retail channels beginning in October. Pricing has yet to be announced. The Samsung Gear S will be available in black and white variants.

Android Wear Is Here to digitalize your wrist

The first two smartwatches built on the Android Wear platform are launched yesterday. One is from LG, the G Watch, and the other is from its arch Korean rival, Samsung, the Gear Live.

Both smartwatches run on the Android Wear platform, and both of them have more or less the same software. Android Wear really does two important things, it moves app notifications to the smartwatch’s face, and it puts Google Now’s voice-powered search capabilities on user’s wrist.

Last week,Google has set up a section dedicated exclusively to apps optimized for Android Wear. The apps developed by Google are truly interactive because they’ve already enabled voice actions. For example, both SMS and email will let you send a reply right from your wrist.

Having Google’s Intelligent Assistant on the wrist is immense. It is precisely the kind of thing that makes sense on a watch, and Android Wear is wonderful for alerting you about things happening in the real world around you based on your location and digital history—so too is it on your wrist.

The LG G watch costs $230 which is  $30 more than the Samsung’s $200 smartwatch. Samsung has provided better build quality with a slight curved backside resting more comfortably on the wrists.The screen on the Samsung is also clearly brighter, but users need to charge both devices every day. LG is providing a better hefty docking cradle compared to Samsung’s plastic one.

Price from Chinese List Shows Moto 360 to Be Very Expensive

We all are waiting for the launch of three Android Wear devices that will hit the market very soon. We already know very much about the Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch but what is frustrating is the lack of information we have about Moto 360. Many people have their eyes only focused on Moto 360 but sadly it is the only one that people don’t know much about.

According to the inside news, Moto 360 very much resembles the other two devices but what is concerning the people is its price. While Samsung and LG have made their devices simple, the Motorola is introducing its Android Wear with more of a premium look and fine design. Some news tells that Moto 360 comes with wireless charging and sapphire glass, which could very well be the reason why it costs more.

Chinese site lists the price of Moto 360 to be 2,800 yuan. It is a cause of concern for anyone pre-ordering the device as the price is converted to be $450. The price of the other two Samsung and LG Android Wear devices on the same site is 1,500 yuan, which means Moto 360 has twice the price as compared to both of them.

The list might provide wrong pricing and might be only focusing on making profit from curious customers. The list displays the weight of Moto 360 to be 250g while the other two devices are at 60g range but people claims that Moto 360 is lighter than the other two devices.

Earlier the Motorola put the price of Moto 360 at watch face contest to be $249 but later it said that the price would be changed.

Moto 360 is priced at near $340 in Europe. So, one can assume that the price range for it will be from $300 to anything above.

Motorola uploads official Moto 360 demo video

At Google I/O, the Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch Android Wear smartwatches were announced along with a proper demonstration. Both smartwearables also went on sale the same day on the Google Play Store.

Sensing the disappointment among early Android and Moto fans, Motorola recently has uploaded a demo video to show how the watch looks like in action. In the demo video, Motorola product marketing manager Cathay Bi gives us a walkthrough of the Moto 360, confirming that it comes with a stainless steel case, and a genuine leather wrist strap (we assume that this is customizable anyway).

Running Android Wear – just like Samsung’s Gear Live and LG’s G Watch - the Moto 360 displays notifications at the bottom of its screen. These can be dismissed the same way you’re doing it on an Android smartphone. The custom watch screen backgrounds designed for the Moto 360 actually seem quite a bit more stylish than those shown off at Google I/O on stage. You can also take (or reject) calls with the Moto 360.

Voice command also gets a quick demo, and works in much the same way as touchless control on the Moto X by simply saying “Ok, Google.” There’s also a physical button on the side of the watch’s body that’s used to wake it up, or you can tap the face.

Moto 360 is expected to release “later this summer” for a price that hasn’t been announced yet.Recently,Motorola revealed the winning design of its watch face contest – which might be used as one of the faces for the commercial version of the Moto 360.
