Colorful Sony Xperia Z3 handsets and SmartBand Talk with curved E-link pictures revealed

Rumors and leaks have been having a field day in the run-up to the IFA 2014. Soon after the leaked full specs of the Sony Xperia Z3 and its smaller sibling the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, a copper colored Xperia Z3 and Sony’s new fitness band the SmartBand Talk have been spotted in a leaked press image. In fact, several images showing Sony’s new flagship Xperia device have been revealed.

In the said image, a model holds the copper-colored Sony Xperia Z3 and is wearing a SmartBand on her wrist. The SmartBand shows the curved E-link display. Another image shows the Xperia Z3 in various colors. Apart from copper, the handset will come in Green, Black and White colors.

To recap, the Xperia Z3 is thought to be similar to the Xperia Z2 with minor improvements. It is slimmer with dimensions of 146.5 x 72.4 x 7.5mm. The device is rumored to have a 5.2-inch 1080p full HD Triluminos display, a Quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset clocked at 2.5GHz, 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, micro SD slot and 20.7MP camera with 4K video recording capability. The Xperia Z3 would also be dust and waterproof IP55/IP58 certified.

Now all eyes are on the IFA 2014 events that are to begin in a few hours in Berlin. Sony is expected to unveil an impressive line-up of new devices including the Xperia Z3, the Xperia Z3 Compact, the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk.

Sony’s SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk renders spotted, both to allegedly debut at IFA 2014

IFA 2014 is just a couple of days away and as Sony is preparing to hold a special press event on September 4, we hear that the Japanese tech giant is planning to unveil two new wearables – SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk apart from the three Xperia devices.


Sony recently released a teaser video hinting at the release of three new devices with different sizes at the IFA 2014. Based on previous rumors, these devices will probably be the Xperia Z3, the Xperia Z3 Compact and the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. Earlier, a picture of Sony’s new SmartWatch and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact had accidently leaked on its Facebook page along with its SmartBand promos. Now fuzzy renderings of it’s SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk have appeared and according to sources, they are to be launched at the IFA in Berlin.

The SmartWatch 3 will sport a 1.68-inch screen with a resolution of 320 x 320 and will be powered by Android Wear. It will be IP58 certified for dust and water resistance meaning it will be able to withstand up to 5 ft of submersion in water for up to 30 minutes.

The SmartBand Talk is a successor to Sony’s fitness SmartBand SWR10 and will feature a curved e-link display and Bluetooth connectivity. No other details are available about the SmartBand but the word ‘Talk’ in its name suggests that it might have certain phone capabilities like call handling when paired with a smartphone.

Sony also posted another teaser on its UK Twitter account saying, “We’ll be getting deep at #IFA2014” and posting a picture suggesting its new devices unveiled at IFA will go even deeper than 2m.
