Five Samsung smartphones to get the KitKat treatment this month

Reports based on the leaked documents coming from Samsung India show that the Korean tech giant would bring the KitKat roll-out to five Samsung smartphones this month. The five spotted handsets are the Galaxy Note 3 Neo, Galaxy Grand 2 Duos, Galaxy Mega 6.3, Galaxy Mega 5.8 Duos and the Galaxy S4 mini.

The update for all these five smartphones have been finalized and the roll-out for the same in a staged manner. The above image shows the listing of the devices for the same. Now what appears is that this image seems to be pretty official unless someone is not that articulate to Photoshop it.

Moreover for the model numbers listed for the Galaxy Grand 2 and the Galaxy Mega 5.8 they show it to be their dual SIM that would be getting the KitKat treatment. It is still unclear as to whether the single SIM variants of the phone will too get the update or before or after it.

AT&T Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 Android 4.4.2 Kitkat Update Released

So, at last the much awaited Android Kitkat update for Galaxy Mega 6.3 is finally out. AT&T announced that all of its Galaxy Mega 6.3 devices will be updateable to the latest version of Android i.e. Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 is the 6.3 inch version of Samsung Galaxy Mega (SGH-i527) handset.

You can get the official Android 4.4.2 Kitkat in two ways. The first option is to check manually for updates periodically. So, you will have to Settings Menu, then click on More option, and at last click About Device. Then go to Software Update Menu, click on “Check for Updates” section. The device will then check for available updates, if you want get the update than download the 4.4.2 version. The other way to update is to wait for the automatic update of your OS, meaning you will get a notification of AT&T official OTA (over-the-air) on your Galaxy Mega 6.3. Once you get the notification, download the files, and handset will automatically do the necessary installations. No matter which option you choose to update your device, download when connected to a Wi-Fi network as the files are pretty big. The software version name is I527UCUBNE7, so do check that after updating. According Samsung the update can be postponed not more than three times after which it will be downloaded automatically and updated.
