After four days of the teaser video launch, the new LG G Watch R is now official. Today LG unveiled its second wearable device. It is has a perfectly round 1.3 inch plastic OLED (P-OLED) screen with a resolution of 320×320 pixels. According to LG the screen provides a “stunning image clarity” under bright sun too.
The watch is IP67-certified and thus is dust and water proof just like its predecessor. The phone is showcases a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor, 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB internal storage. The device is powered by 410 mAh battery. Watch R runs Android WearTM OS which is compatible with Android 4.3 and above. The body of the watch is made of stainless steel and its leather skin straps are interchangeable.
LG G Watch R can also monitor your heart rate through its inbuilt PPG (photoplethysmography) sensor and has plethora of fitness apps pre-installed. So, if you are a fitness freak this might justbe the right device for you.
Still there is no news on price of the device, but G Watch R may go for sale in selected countries end of this year. More details on the overall device will be unveiled this September at IFA 2014. Stay tuned for more updates.
