iPhone6S Boasts Double LTE Speed and More Efficient with new Qualcomm chipset

iPhone6S is reported to have a redesigned wireless system with Qualcomm LTE chip. According to the image of iPhone 6S prototype shared by a few sources, it seems like the device will be using Qualcomm’s MDM9635M chipset which is also known as ‘9X35’ Gobi modem platform. There are a few improvements for this chip compared to the current chip which is used in the current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

One of the differences which are can be easily seen is the download speed when connecting to internet using LTE. It is expected that the LTE download speed will be doubled compared to the current ‘9X25’ chip that used in the current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The download speed is expected to be up to 300Mbps theoretically with the real world performance closer to 225Mbps or lower. The current download speed of the chip found in iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is about 150Mbps. There is no change on the 50 Mbps upload speed limit though.

Another difference is the size of the new iPhone’s logicboard. It seems to be narrower and more compact than the current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. This could mean that there is larger battery size. With more power efficient chip combined with a larger battery and iOS 9’s new power saving features, this means that longer battery life.

The “9X35” chip is manufactured using a newer 20nm production process while the current iPhones are manufactured using the 28nm process. The new chip falls into “Category 6” cellular modems due to its speed. Thus it will allow consumers to have shorter download time as well as faster loading time despite of the uneven network response time.  On top of that, it also support other technology such as DC-HSPA, EVDO Rev. B, CDMA 1x, GSM and TD-SCDMA.

The new iPhone will only be ready in 2016.

Payments through Facebook Messenger now available to users in the US

In March this year, Facebook had announced addition of a new payment feature in its Messenger by which users could send and receive money between family and friends in an easy and secure way. Moreover, it is free. The social networking giant has now announced that the “Messenger person-to-person payments” will be available to all the users in the US. They just have to add their debit card and the payment can be made in a few clicks.

When you want to make payment, just click on the dollar icon “$” in the Messenger conversation. Enter the amount you want to pay and click on the “Pay” icon on the top right hand corner. The money is transferred from your account to the recipient’s account within one to three working days depending on the bank.

Before making the payment, users have to register with their Mastercard or Visa debit cards. Users receiving the money for the first time will also have to register their debit cards before they can accept the funds.

Facebook assures the users such payments made through the Messenger are secure as all the information is encrypted. Facebook says that they have been handling payments by advertisers and game players since 2007 and processes over 1 million transactions daily.

They say,” We use layers of software and hardware protection that meet the highest industry standards. These payment systems are kept in a secured environment that is separate from other parts of the Facebook network and that receive additional monitoring and control. A team of anti-fraud specialists monitor for suspicious purchase activity to help keep accounts safe.”

Facebook Messenger is now an independent service as even non-Facebook users can sign up for it. Currently, Facebook Messenger has about 700 million users behind only to WhatsApp which has also been acquired by Facebook now. This new money transfer facility through Messenger to family and friends would be a very easy and convenient feature for its users.

The new payment feature in the Messenger is rolling out now in the US across desktop, Android and iOS devices.

Samsung Rumored to Release Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus and Edge Plus Before the End of Year

Samsung apparently registered yet another naming patent to United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on 26^th June 2015 which was approved four days later on 30^th June 2015. This gives hint that Samsung most probably is going to release yet another smartphones before the end of the year as the name that was registered was ‘S6 EGDE+”.  However, it is rumored that Samsung is going to release not just one smartphone but two smartphones, S6 and S6 EDGE+.

According to the rumors, Samsung Galaxy S6 EDGE+ has physical dimensions of 6.08 x 2.98 x 0.26 inch (154.45 x 75.80 x 6.85mm) with a 5.5-inch display screen and not a 5.7-inch display screen as previously rumored. Unfortunately, this measurement is not confirmed yet, but one thing for sure is that EDGE+ is going to be taller and wider than the current Edge.  There is not much information on the screen size of S6 Plus, however, it is rumored that the screen size will be between 5.5 to 5.7 inches and it is going to be bigger than the current S6.

On the hardware, S6 Plus and S6 EDGE Plus is rumored to run on a hexa—core Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB RAM, 32 internal storage, 16MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera. Unfortunately, there will be no S-Pen functionality.

It is expected that Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus and S6 EDGE Plus will be launched between July and September, which is earlier than IFA Conference. As for the pricing, it is expected that they will be more expensive than the current S6 and S6 Edge.

Huawei officially declares its new Honor Band Zero smartwatch

Having announced its premium flagship the Honor 7, Huawei quickly made another official announcement of its new Honor Band Zero smartwatch. However, the company has just put a teasing shot of the smartwatch of its Twitter handle and we are yet to have some of the specs details for the wearable.

Looking to the device images, it is a round wearable sporting some metallic-looking bezels. However, its not the first smartwatch to have circular display of-course and when compared to the company’s own Huawei Watch, it does match the aesthetics too. It will be certainly interesting to know as to what the Honor Band Zero is aimed at, whether its just a fitness tracking device or offers much more beyond it. Even though we believe that the wearable will be at least having an IP68 certification making it dust and water proof.

For the time being, it can be assumed that the Honor Band Zero will too have the Android Wear support. However, as of for now, there is no confirmation on this from the company neither is there any word on the pricing of the wearable. The Honor Band Zero is expect to come sometime in August in three color options of Black, White and Beige configurations.

The rumors about the possible upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 edge Plus are not stopping from surfacing on the web. Just today, another news was heard from Sammobile; their inside sources claim that the new Samsung mobile phone will be 73mm wide and 151mm long. In addition to this, the new mobile phone is going to have a battery of 3000mAh.

 
Previous rumor

Earlier there was a rumour according to which Samsung Galaxy S6 edge Plus was going to have dimensions of 154.45 x 75.80 x 6.85mm, and that means a display size of 5.5 inches. The new report from Sammobile differs from the previous report; this one claims that the HW dimensions are more close to 151 x 73 mm.

 
Display size

The original Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge set has dimensions of 142.1 x 70.1 x 7 mm with a display of 5.1 inches. The new rumored Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus handset is said to have slightly more length and width of 151 mm and 73 mm respectively. It is not possible that this handset can have a 5.5 inch display as it was rumored. One should forget that Galaxy Note 4 which has a display of 5.7 inches, and it is 153.5 mm long and 78.6 mm wide.

 
Battery

The thickness of the handset is not mentioned in the new report. The sources claim that the Samsung Galaxy edge Plus will come with a battery of 3000mAh which is slightly more than the battery fo Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, and that was 2600mAh. There is no actual need of increasing the thickness of the handset; a larger footprint would be enough to accomodate a bigger battery.

 
Features

The previous rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge Plus disclosed that it will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, 16MP primary camera with OIS, 5MP secondary shooter on the front and 32GB of integrated storage space which is the same UFS 2.0 storage technology used in Galaxy S6.

 
Ambiguity

Though there is no solid evidencne to this information, but if it turns out to be true then it will be something really great. At the moment, no one can say which of the two rumors will come out as the truth; people will have to wait for a while.

Samsung May Provide NAND Flash Memory Chips For New iPhone Models

According to the latest report from South Korea, Samsung may soon sign a deal with Apple to provide NAND flash memory chips for the forthcoming iPhone models: 6S and 6S Plus. In Xian, China, it is rumored that Samsung is already testing memory chips for durability as it may become one of the memory chips suppliers of Apple.

Samsung didn’t provide these memory chips to the Apple for iPhone 6 series till date as per report because the two technology houses didn’t agree over pricing.

At this point, it is unknown that how much faith Apple will put in the memory chips provided by Samsung for iPhone 6S series and the time will tell whether Apple is able to fix the troubles that people are reporting in these chips of some iPhone 6 models.

Europe and China have more demand of 64GB iPhone models so it is rumored that Apple is planning to make this version more and 64 GB is what Apple will demand from Samsung for the iPhone 6S.

One report from Credit Suisse says that Toshiba will supply 50% of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus memory chips, SK Hynix will have 30% part and Sandisk will remain with 20%.

From the latest report, it can be assumed that Samsung will play a big role in the Apple 6S series. Some reports also say that Apple will pick Samsung for the manufacturing of A9 chip for the iPhones this year, while other reports suggest TSMC will continue making chips for Apple. The iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus are expected in the September of this year.

The newly launched Meizu MX5 boasts of some impressive features, among them is the powerful 20.7MP camera with a Sony sensor and laser assisted autofocus and dual flash. The 20.7MP rear camera of the Meizu MX5 features 1/2.3 inch Sony IMX220 sensor and an f/2.2 size aperture lens with 6 optical elements and 1.2-micron pixels. The rear camera has a laser assisted auto-focusing system that causes the camera to focus automatically in only 0.2 seconds within 50cm range even in low light conditions.

The rear camera can also record 4K videos as well as slow motion videos at 100fps in 720p resolution and can compress these videos in H.265 encoding system for storing the files with minimum loss of detail. Meizu MX5 also sports a 5MP front-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture lens for taking selfies and video chatting. The cam comes with Face AE function and FotoNation 2.0.

The new Meizu MX5 flagship has a full metal jacket body and features a 5.5-inch 1920 x1080 pixel AMOLED display, the latest 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 Turbo processor, a PowerVR G6200 GPU, 3GB RAM and three storage options – 16GB/32GB and 64GB. The handset comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop.
