Roll out of new LG G Pad Tablet series begins; here are the details and specifications

LG had announced three new tablets in its G Pad series a month ago but the company had given just their names and sizes with no other details. Now the South Korean giant is beginning the roll out the three tablets G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1 and has finally given out their specifications. According to LG, the three new tablets offer “just the right balance of performance, personality and price to fill the gap between entry and premium tablets.”

Last year LG had introduced its first G Pad slate, the G Pad 8.3. It was a powerful tablet and gave a tough competition to Samsung. LG is now extending the G Pad family with three new members. The first to roll out is G Pad 7.0 which will be available in Europe from this week onward, followed by G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1 in the following weeks.

LG’s CEO Dr. Jong-seok Park says,”LG understands that people have different needs and we wanted to provide consumers with a range of options in size, looks, and attractive price points that included the best of LG’s core technologies. With our latest tablets, LG is giving consumers options to find a device that best fits their lifestyle and needs.”

Common hardware features in all the three LG G Pad Tablets include IPS HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 800, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, a microSD card slot and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera. The new tablets will be available in five colors- Black, White, Luminous Orange, Luminous Blue and Red.

All the tablets have improved GUI design, Smart Keyboard, Dual Window,KnockCode^TM and QPair 2.0. The GUI is simple, clean and easily navigable with flat graphics and circular motif. Smart Keyboard reduces typing errors by up to 75%. Dual Window splits the screen and allows two applications to run simultaneously, making multi-tasking easy.

KnockCode is a security feature that allows users to unlock their G Pad by using a tap pattern with maximum of four knock pattern sets recognized. QPair 2.0 allows easy and convenient connectivity between the Android G Pad tablet and Android smartphones via Bluetooth. Users will get call notifications and messages on the smartphone and respond directly from the tablet. The QPair 2.0 Software Development Kit (SDK) can be downloaded from the LG Developer website http://developer.lge.com.
