Since long, there was a lot of rumors for a flagship smartphone from Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi and past week the company went out surprisingly announcing two flagship models the Xiaomi Mi Note and the Xiaomi Note Pro. For this article we will be talking about the complete features and specs of the Xiaomi Mi Note along with all its official images released and an introductory video.
As suspected since long, the Xiaomi Mi Note is a phablet handset with 5.7inch screen with a 2.5D display and resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, offering a pixel density of 387ppi. The design for the phablet is quite similar to the the company’s last year flagship Xiaomi Mi4 and comes with a metal framing with dimensions measuring just 6.95mm thickness making it even slimmer compared to the iPhone 6 Plus having 7.1mm thickness. The bezels to its sides have been squeezed a lot with just 0.2mm and the phablet is relatively light weight with 161 grams. The great thing is that the screen surface is made up with a curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which can bend up to 70-80 degrees without breaking and of-course offering the scratch resistant functionality. Additionally within the display, the company has put a dedicated reader mode option specifically designed for bed reading wherein the display filters the blue light that artificially stimulates the brain and prevents readers from sleeping.
Looking to its machine under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi Note hosts a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset clocked at 2.5GHz supported with a Adreno 330GPU for graphics handling. The storage options for the device include a 3GB of RAM memory and two ROM memory storage options of 16GB and 64GB, the standard ones provided by Xiaomi. The device also has a dual SIM card support – one micro and one nano SIM both having 4G connectivity. To its back lies a 13MP Sony camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture that comes with OIS and Philips dual-tone LED flash – one with a white LED light and one with a yellow LED light, which upon photography combines to produce natural color results. To its front lies a powerful 4MP UltraPixel camera the one that we saw in the HTC One M8 last year.
At the software end, Xiaomi doesn’t stay back as the Xiaomi Mi Note is tipped to arrive with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop on board skinned with company’s proprietary MIUI version 6. Additionally, Xiaomi has also incorporated the special one handed tackling mode offering ease of usability to its users. However, we are not sure whether this feature would be toned down to its other 5inch flagships or not.
The handset comes with a Audiophile hardware offering 24-bit/192KHZ lossless playback that comes because of the built-in ESS ES9018K2M DAC and two OPA1612 amp chips from Texas Instruments. The amplifiers can drive up to 600ohm of headphones easily. Looking to its battery capacity, the device hosts a powerful 3000mAh of lithium-ion battery with a QuickCharge 2.0 feature offering faster charging speeds.
Talking about its pricing and release date, the pre-order for the device is to start today itself from January 20th and the expected release is said to be at January 27th.
