HP unveils 7 new monitors, including 4K, 5K, curved, and 3D virtual displays

HP went furious yesterday at CES 2015 by announcing seven monitors at once. This comprises of one 5k screen, 3D monitor, some curved and 4K monitors.


The HP Z27q is the 27-inch 5120×2880 p resolution monitor, similar to the new iMac with Retina display. Moreover, it has four USB 3.0 outputs, two DisplayPort 1.2 inputs, tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustment covering 99% of the overall Adobe RGB gamut. The HP Z27q is available with a affordable price-tag of $1,299 starting March.


HP also launched 27-inch Z27s and 23.8-inch Z24s with 4k display. Both are having 3840×2160 resolution alongwith 1.07 billion colors covered by  sRGB color gamut. Both features four USB 3.0 ports, 1 audio out port, HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2, Mini DisplayPort,tilt,pivot, swivel and height adjustment. The Z24s will be available in April for $549 while Z27s will be available in January for $749.

The three curved monitor variants includes the 27-inch Pavillion 27c, EliteDisplay S270c and the 34-inch Envy 34c.  The 34c has a  3440×1440 resolution along with super wide 21:9 aspect ratio VA panel, dual HDMI (one with MHL), one DisplayPort 2.1, 8-bit color depth covering 98.8% sRGB coverage. It also possess low reflective coating and DTS Audio supported by 6W per channel speakers. It will be available for $999 during April. The 27c variant has a 1080p VA panel, HDMI 1.4, MHL 2.0 with built-in DTS Audio and 4W per channel speaker system. The S270c is almost same practically with a bigger display and is available now for $399.

Lastly, HP launched the 3D Zvr virtual reality monitor. It features a  1080p TN panel with 3D cameras above the display along with one DVI-D port, one DisplayPort 1.2, and two USB 3.0 ports. 3D cameras can track user’s  head movement and with the help of the passive 3D glasses,  users can utilize real-time parallax effect to move objects around relative to the position of their head. This is specifically designed for 3D softwares such as AutoCAD and for places like design studios, schools and various engineering labs. No pricing information of 3D Zvr is available from HP yet.
