Smartwatches are not very old in the field of technology. Swiss watch makers are in pressure that this new device will take away the customers of the expensive watches; but a German company of watches, Montblanc, has come up with a solution. On the New Year’s Day, Swiss firm sent out an email in which it introduced the e-Strap to its fans and costumers. This device would be replaced by the current strap on the watches and would change the current expensive Swiss watch into a smart-watch with high functions.
This month, this device would officially be revealed in Geneva at a conference by the company. The e-Strap vibrates to provide the notification of the incoming smartphone call. It also includes a touch-screen to display previews of emails, enables the user to read his text messages and alerts him with his upcoming appointment.
Activity Tracker of the device counts each step taken by the user and also measures the distance traveled. Also, it keeps up the track of used calories. The vibration alert of the e-Strap reminds the user to stay active, and an app is available to keep data of fitness for months and weeks.
The device enables the user to take pictures with a tap, and remotely control the music of smartphone. The ‘Find-Me’ feature enables the user to find his lost watch with smartphone or lost smartphone with watch within 30 meters.
The e-strap is compatible with Apple iPhone 6, Apple iPhone 6 Plus, Apple iPhone 5s, Apple iPhone 5c, Apple iPhone 5, Apple iPhone 4s, and also with Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy S4 and some other selected devices that run on Android 4.3 or higher.
The device is heat, fire and water resistant. The lowest purchasable price of the device is $241 USD, while the stand alone model could be purchased at $541 USD.
