Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus appear in a couple of Chinese commercials

Chinese company Oppo’s two upcoming smartphones Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus have made an appearance in two Chinese commercials and the video ads are making rounds on the web.

The Oppo R7 seems to be an upgraded version of the Oppo R5 and features a 5-inch screen with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 441ppi pixel density. It is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor and contains a 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, a 20.7MP rear camera and a 2,320mAh battery. The handset is priced at 2,999 Yuan equivalent to about $483.

The Oppo R7 Plus is the bigger handset sporting a larger display and a fingerprint sensor at the back.  This Oppo handset appears to be almost bezel-less. Not many details are available currently about R7 Plus. Both the devices support Oppo’s VOOC flash charging.

The second ad highlights the rapid charging of the battery where five minutes of charging gives a battery life of two hours for calls. Both the handsets Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus are expected to make their official debut on May 20th. Stay tuned for more news about the devices.

Bezelless Oppo handset leaks in its all glory

There has been quite a rumor regarding a bezelless handset from Chinese manufacturer Oppo to be coming soon and now the device is said to have been leaked in some of the most comprehensive leaks of its images and even a video showing up the device.

The company is said to be working in developing its own indigenous technology for the bezelless handset considering some design implications as the risks of breakage. The company has arrived with a solution which bends the light emitted from the pixels at the screen edges providing an edge-to-edge display illusion. Additionally, the display panel would be surrounded by a rim that will ensure the strength requirements are met. The key issue would be the front glass panel which would be of the prime importance for this handset.

The leaked images show that the handset has got a unique look. Moreover, its rival competitor ZTE is also planning to release a similar handset called as the Nubia Z9. For the meanwhile, enjoy the images and the video below (click the link below for the video).

Mirror 3 – Oppo’s New Midranger to Hit the Market Soon

Few months earlier, Oppo announced its N3 with a motorized camera and then R5 which stayed as world’s slimmest phone for a bit. Recently, it has introduced its new R1C a midranger 64 bit, but it is not confirmed if the mobile will be exclusive for markets of Asia or not. Now company has taken its production one step further; the company has announced its new handset Mirror 3 which is completely different from the Desay new Magical Mirror X5.

The look of the Oppo Mirror 3 resembles inflated R5, and same can be said about R1C. With the new design of these three new phones, it can be considered as the next signature design of Oppo.

The specifications of the handset are not quite high. It runs on Snapdragon 410 a 1.2 GHz quad-core, and has RAM of 1 GB. For storage, it has a built-in memory of 8 GB and can support a microSD card of 128 GB. It has a screen display of 4.7 inches with a resolution of 720 x 1280. Other than these, it consists of 2,000 mAh battery. For the picture lovers, it has the combo of 8 MP/5 MP cameras.

The phone will be powered by Android 4.4.4 KitKat which will be coated by Oppo’s Color OS skin version 2.0.1.

The cost of the Mirror 3 is thought to be near $280 when it will be made available in the markets of China. The phone will have two colors: black and white. However, it is not known if the handset will be presented in the international markets.

New Oppo Teaser Shows Updated ColorOS Beta for Find 7 and Find 7a

The rate at which the software and technology are advancing is quite fast.  The top mobiles Find 7a and Find 7 made by Oppo are getting a bit old in competition with other latest devices. Oppo introduces ColorOS, new Android’s flavor, to provide a great experience to users.

Oppo knows about the competition and pressure is building up to keep the software up to date. So far it has been difficult with Find 7 devices.

Oppo provides developers and tinkerers all around the world with their needs, and all types of discussions regarding Oppo’s products have been provided on their active forums.

However, Oppo does not provide its ColorOS crowd with over- the-air updates, but releases stable builds which could be installed and loaded manually on mobiles.  Luckily, the steps require to load the Betas are simply like downloading a file. The updating of phone could be initiated by connecting the device to the computer.

Last October, Find 7 and Find 7a were updated to ColorOS 2.0.0i which provided the mobiles to have Android 4.4 KitKat based firmware and also with many changes to provide a different experience to the users.

With the Android 4.4.2 based ColorOS 2.0.4i update teaser, couple of new wallpapers and presorting of apps would be provided to Find 7a and Find 7. Along with these, task manager also would gain some enhancement.

Free-halt 2.0 is a new feature integrated in the OS to provide easy one handed operation.

Unique advancements have been made to the overall camera interface including new modes and menu widgets. The update should soon be available.

Manufacturers are vying with each other for coming out with the thinnest of phones. The 4.85mm thin Oppo R5 is currently the reigning champion in this department, but not for long because the 4.75mm thin Vivo X5 is already waiting in the wings to make an appearance on December 10.

CNBeta.com, a Chinese website, has performed a couple of benchmark tests on the Oppo R5. The handset has shown some respectable results, although nothing exceptional. In An Tu Tu, the device has scored 26,593 points which is quite expected for a device with a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM. It is almost half that of 49,480 score of Nexus 6 that has a Snapdragon 805 processor.

In the 3D rating ES 3.0 test to check the graphic performance, Oppo R5 obtained 2,164 points. The 5.2” 1080p AMOLED display could reproduce color quite accurately.

As you can see, the Oppo R5 features a 5.2-inch 1080p FHD AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 64-bit 615 octa-core processor and Adreno 405 GPU for graphics, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, a 13MP rear camera and a built-in 2000mAh battery. Although not very strong in performance, the  handset seems good for everyday use.

New Oppo R8207 Certified by TENNA, Oppo Find 7, 7a included in Oppo Black Friday Sale

Another new phone from another Chinese manufacturer has passed through TENNA, the Chinese equivalent to United States’ FCC. Oppo’s new mid-range smartphone Oppo R8207 has been recently certified by TENNA. In another news, Oppo’s Find 7 and 7a were included by the company in its Black Friday 2014 Pack.

The new Oppo R8207 is quite a thin smartphone just 6.85mm thick, with a 5-inch TFT HD (720 x 1080p) display. It is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core processor, has a 2 GB of RAM and a 16 GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot for expansion up to 128 GB. Cameras include a13MP camera with LED flash at the back and a 5MP selfie camera in the front. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, microUSB v2.0 port and audio jack.

Looking at the specs and design, the Oppo R8207 appears much similar to Apple’s iPhone 6 or the Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A-series of smartphones. So if the pricing is right, this Oppo’s new device might go on to become pretty successful in the market.

To cash in on the Black Friday shopping craze, the Chinese smartphone maker had offered Oppo Find 7 and 7a packs in Black Friday sale. Packs for both included free smartphone easy cover, screen protector,  iLike Bluetooth headphones, extra battery, 32 GB microSD card and a€80 or $100 voucher for purchase of another smartphone. The Find 7 pack cost $599 and the Find 7a pack cost $499.

Meet Oppo R5, the world’s thinnest smartphone at 4.85mm

After sending out teasers and hinting at two new devices to be launched on October 29 in Singapore, the Chinese mobile maker Oppo unveiled its camera-centric Oppo N3 smartphone that has a motorized swiveling camera, a multi-purpose fingerprint scanner and ultra-fast battery charging technology. Along with it, the company also introduced Oppo R5, its first 64-bit smartphone.

Oppo R5 has a thickness of only 4.85mm and has become the “world’s thinnest smartphone” ever made. Companies these days seem to be vying with each other for producing thin sleek handsets. Earlier this year, Gionee had turned heads with its 5.5mm thin Elfie S5.5 smartphone.  After that, Gionee came out with a mere 5.15mm thin Elfie S5.1 which became the world’s slimmest smartphone.  That record has now been broken by the Oppo R5.

Let us see what the world’s thinnest phone has to offer. Well, it has a frame made of hand polished 3D-welded aluminum alloy having the dimensions of 148.9 x 74.5 x 4.85mm and weighing 155g. The Oppo R5 features a 5.2-inch AMOLED FHD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution (423 ppi), making the phone “brimming with clarity”.

Under the metal body, it has a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 Qualcomm octa-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and Adreno 330 GPU to take care of the graphics. The device has  2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Oppo has used a Cool Element Phase Shifting Cooling technology that uses special material which absorbs heat and improves thermal efficiency.

The device has a 13 MP f/2.0 Sony EXMOR IMX214 BSI main camera and 5 MP f/2.0 front-facing camera with 83 degree wide angle lens. Oppo R5 packs a 2000 mAh Li-Po battery with rapid charge and the device runs Android 4.4. based Color OS 2.0. Connectivity options include GSM, WCDMA, FDD-LTE, TD-LTE, 5G Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/a and Bluetooth 4.0. In the box apart from the smartpone are In-ear type Earphones, USB-to-3.5mm Audio Adapter, micro USB cable and VOOC mini Rapid Charger.

The Oppo R5 will be available in Silver and Gold colors and is priced at $499. It is supposed to go up for sale in December this year.

Oppo N3 leaks in 3 colors, to launch on October 29

Even as the Chinese mobile maker Oppo is getting ready to launch its latest handset the Oppo N3 on October 29, the rumor mills are still going strong. This time, images of Oppo N3 in three color options – pink, white and cyan have been leaked. It has already been confirmed by the company that Oppo N3 will come in two types of body materials – Lithium-Aluminum Alloy and Stainless Steel, but it is not known if the above mentioned three colors will be available in both the versions.

The company had released Oppo N1 last year but it seems that it is skipping the next version N2 (unless we consider Ni Mini as N2) and jumping directly to N3. The specs of Oppo N3 were leaked last month.  The N3 is also rumored to sport a 5.9-inch 1080p display like its predecessor the Oppo N1, but it will have the latest Snapdragon 805 CPU and 3GB RAM. Other specs include 13 megapixel camera capable of 206 degree rotation, with dual LED flash.

Anyways, we will know more details at the October 29 Oppo event where the Oppo N3 is scheduled to make its debut. So stay truned.

The new Oppo N3 has been the subject of discussion that has leaked numerous of photos before. Two pictures were leaked on the cylinder shaped camera along with the swiveling snapper photo that looked like Oppo N1’s designed. The recent leaked picture of the n Oppo N3 shows the surfaced and design of the new Oppo.

The new Oppo N3’s screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 matches with the Oppo N1 but with a larger display of 5.9-inch and 373ppi pixel density. At the same time, the camera sensor will be 13 mega pixels with 206 degrees along with 3GB RAM and 805 Snapdragon CPU.

However, there is some variation of the Oppo N3 because it offers durable building body and lightweight with Aluminium Lithium material. At the same time, this is stainless steel body that considering the version of Apple iPhone 6 Plus Smartphone too!

Oppo Announced an Upcoing Device with "Best Audio Quality"

Later last week the Chinese phone manufacturer, Oppo, announced on its Indonesian twitter account (@OPPOIndonesia) that it’s releasing a new product with best audio quality capabilities. There is however no information whether the “product” that Oppo announced to be “coming soon” is a smartphone, a smart watch, a feature phone, a speaker or something else.

The tweet showed a teaser image showing a box with the “Oppo” logo on top which is probably the package the product will come packed in. Apart from that the company has given no information except for saying more info will come soon.

If the said upcoming device is a smartphone, the “best audio quality” that the company promises will be a major selling point since many smartphones lack on audio side of things.

Oppo has had a lot of success under its belt in the past with so many successful phones on the market including Oppo Neo, N1, Find 7, Find 7a, and N1 Mini to mention a few.

The Oppo N1, which was released on December last year, for example has spec sheet comparable to that of the top smartphones on the market such as the Galaxy S-series and iPhone 5. High quality 13 MP primary camera, fast 1.7 GHz quad-core processor and 2 GB memory are some of the features that come with the phone. It also features Adreno 320 GPU, 3610 mAh battery capacity and a weight of 213 grams.

The Find 7, on the other hand, has 13MP camera with capabilities to take up to 50 MP images. This makes it the first phone with camera with the largest pixel count.
