Sharp Launches Aquos ZETA SH-03G Which Comes with Slow-Motion Video and LED Lights

Sharp is launching a new smartphone which is definitely better than the other smartphones that the company has launched until now. The smartphone will be named Aquos ZETA SH-03G.  The body will be made of razor bezel and it will be smaller than Samsung Galaxy S6. However, it features much larger 5.5-inch 1080p Full HD screen.

The new smartphone will be using its own IGZO technology and it consumes low power as the refresh rate is low when still images are displayed. A 3000 mAH is going to be enough to be used for two days before it needs to be charged again. On top of that, the device will be running on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.

Aquos ZETA SH-03G will come with a 13MP camera with OIS and wide f/1.9 aperture and GR certified lens by Ricoh. The camera is capable to shot a slow-mo video, 480p done at 210fpbs and interpolated to 2100fps which allows you to slow down typical 30fps footage 70 times.  Furthermore, it will support DTS Dolby surround sound, fingerprint scanner at the back and the LED embedded on the hexagonal corners on the side which you can use to set the color of your music or notification according to your preference.

The device also comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop and a one-handed mode which can minimize the whole interface for easier usage. On top of that the smartphone is waterproof. After knowing all those good stuff, we only hope that the device will be available outside Japan.

Sharp Announces 5.5-inch 4K IGZO Display with 806ppi Pixel Density

Samsung recently hinted about 4K AMOLED display which is going to debut on Galaxy Note 5. Another tech company, Sharp, announces 5.5-inch mobile display with 2160 x 3840 pixels Ultra-HD (4K) resolution on its IGZO screens. The screens are scheduled to be mass produced in 2016. Screens with IGZO technology offer high image quality and lower power consumption with pixel density of 806ppi.

Some of consumers might feel that 2K resolution screens are good enough since they offer a good quality of image, however, with a 4K display; it will offer sharper and brighter image quality even in closer distance. Moreover, 4K display will make VR (Virtual Reality) headset experience more real as the high pixel density will remove the screen-door effect and therefore, it will offer better immersion.  Overall, it seems like the gaming industry will be most benefited from this kind of screen resolution.

The competition of making higher density screen becomes fiercer with LG is apparently is making an 8K 27-inch screen display for Apple. Therefore, putting this technology into a phablet screen size is just a matter of time.

Another main concern with these higher resolution screens is that whether the battery is able to support it. As higher resolution means that it will need more battery power and on top of that the battery should be thin enough to fit into the smartphone size.

4.1-inch IGZO LCD display with Rich-Pixels by Sharp

Quad HD zone display on smartphones has already arrived and hopefully, the mobile brands will look for the rich pixel display in upcoming years. Till now, Samsun Galaxy S5 LTE-A is the Smartphone that has the top display pixel density of 576ppi.

However, the renewed Smartphone brands are trailing behind because rumor represents that Sharp is planning for a 5.5” 4K IGZO LCD display with a pixel density of 842ppi that screen’s resolution of 2160 x 4096.

However, the new 4.1-inch IGZO LCD display by Sharp will be the representative of rich-pixel in this era because the device will have not less than 736ppi on its 1600 x 2560 pixels resolution display. At the same time, Sharp has announced that the pixel density will be same on 6” display with a resolution of 2160 x 3840. The brand is currently working on 5.5” 4K screen for higher pixel density.

According to Sharp, the high pixel density manufacturing will be available in 2016 but the samples of the device will be released sometime in 2015. Now, we can only wait and image how much pixels do the brand represent.

Sharp Reported to be Working on the Highest Smartphone Display Panel

Every smartphone manufacturer is competing to release the highest resolution of screen display. Just 3 years ago, the highest resolution is at 720p (1280 x 720) and with density of 300ppi. As time goes by and with larger screen display trend, manufacturer companies were looking to manufacture higher resolution to maintain the high PPI count. Thus the screen resolution becomes HD (1280 x 720) then becomes FHD (1920 x 1080) and the latest is QHD (2560 x 1440).

Some wonders is it even worth it to have such a high density pixel on a 5-inch screen in the expense of precious battery life? Even the OEMs are going towards the QHD slowly. Sony on the other hand said that it does not think that QHD is worth even on an 8-inch screen. The company is rumoured to equip the next Xperia with a 1440p panel.

According to a Japan-based media, Sharp is currently is working on the next generation of smartphone LCD panels with 4096 x 2160 (4K) resolution. The rumor said that Sharp was pressured to develop the pixel-dense screen due to demand from China. The company is ready for mass production in 2016 and it will be used in 5-inch or 6-inch displays.

The report also claims that Sharp is working on improving the quality of LTPS LCD panels by implementing a in-house developed method of using polycrystalline silicon fused with glass which in the end will produce more transparent and more vibrant display panel. The silicon is made of high purity multicrystalline form of silicon.

Lastly, rumor also said that Sharp is currently has a 600ppi phone display panel ready which should be released in China market starting in early next fiscal year.

Razer media control to be based on Android TV

Just day before yesterday, Google unveiled its much awaited Android TV that comes with video and music streaming along with multi-player gaming. Razer is one of the partners of Google who would be providing Android TV Set-top boxes. And now, Razer has officially went out announcing that it is launching Android TV based media console this fall and would be primarily aimed on gaming. However, any compatible hardware for Android TV is expected to not arrive before September but Razer was much excited to make the announcement. The media console from Razer would also be expected to able to view media content with the courtesy of Google Play.

At the time of announcing Android TV, Sharp and Sony were announced as the first OEMs to bring into market dedicated television featuring Android TV. But news are that that Razer is planning to bring in a similar kind of interface as seen in the recently launched Amazon Fire TV.

However at the moment, there is no official word regarding the pricing or hardware of the device but we expect things to get more clear as we approach closer to the launch date. However, Razer has posted an official picture of the media console that hosts a neon lighting at the bottom as seen in the above image.
