After launching Windows 10, Microsoft is now getting ready to unveil its Windows 10 Mobile later this year and along with it possibly a couple of flagship Lumia smartphones. Recently, several images of a prototype of a new Microsoft Lumia smartphone have leaked online.

The two upcoming handsets that would run Windows 10 Mobile OS are being allegedly referred to as Lumia Talkman and Lumia Cityman internally. Rumors up till now indicated that they would be called Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL. However, other recent rumors suggest that Microsoft would be skipping the 940 series and branding the two handsets as Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. Well, whatever the name, the handsets are the same.

The images leaked now show the prototype enclosed inside a case probably in order to hide its real shape. There is some debate whether it is the Lumia 950 or the larger Lumia 950 XL. The basic design of both is the same except for the screen size. However since the handset is hidden inside the case, it is difficult to say which one it is.

The rounded corners of the prototype are apparent. It sports a 2560 x 1440 pixels QHD Touchscreen and dual SIM functionality. The Lumia 950 (XL) is powered by Snapdragon 810 SoC, has a 3GB RAM and also a USB Type-C port. It has a 20MP camera with triple LED flash. Settings show that the camera has the capability to shoot videos of up to 90fps in 1080p and up to 120fps in 720p.

The prototype model number is RM-1116, build number is 10.0.10240 and it is running Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview.

Microsoft is expected to officially unveil the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL at its event to be held in October probably in New York. It is also expected to launch Surface Pro 4 and Microsoft Band 2 at the time.

Xiaomi Rumored to Launch Windows 10 Tablet in the Second Half of the Year

The last time that we heard about Xiaomi’s tablet is when the company launched Xiaomi Mi Pad in March 2014. As the tablet market sales has cooled down these few months, Xiaomi rumored to have given up in producing the device. However, in May 2015, Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun responded to the rumors by confirming that the company was working on yet another tablet. However, there is not any detail released about the specifications or the features that is going to be implemented in the tablet.

Recently, there is another rumor that the next tablet from Xiaomi will come pre-installed with Windows 10 and it will be launched somewhere in the third quarter of the year. It is yet to be known that the upcoming tablet will run the Mobile version of the Full version of Windows 10. As Microsoft recommends that Windows 10 full version is to be used for tablets with display screen size of 8-inch or more, we can expect that Xiaomi’s tablet screen size will be at least measured at 8-inch.

On August 16, Xiaomi is reported to unveil the company’s own user interface, MIUI, which is built on top of Android and normally found in the company’s products. However, it is going to be interesting if Xiaomi is able to use this user interface on Windows 10 although the probability is lower. There is no official confirmation regarding the company’s Windows 10 tablet. More details will be released nearer to the launch date.  Stay tuned!

Xiaomi Rumored to Launch Windows 10 Tablet in the Second Half of the Year

Lumia 940 and 940 XL to rumored to be priced higher than iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6

New rumors claim that Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 10 powered flagships Lumia 940 and 940 XL would come with a price tag higher than even Apple’s iPhone 6 and Samsung’s Galaxy S6. The Dutch website MyWindows.nl has reported that they have received information about these two Lumia devices from a “trusted source”.

Rumors say that both the Lumia 940 and 940 XL will be made from polycarbonate but that doesn’t mean they will come cheap. They will cost more than the two premium smartphones – the metal framed iPhone 6 which costs $699 onward and the Samsung Galaxy S6 costing $599 onward.

The newly rumored specifications for both the Lumia models match the previously leaked specs. The only new feature is the presence of an iris scanner in both Lumia 940 and 940 XL.

Although the two handsets Lumia 940 and 940 XL have not yet been announced by Microsoft, it is rumored that they will be launched in November this year. It is also speculated that both will support Microsoft’s Continuum feature and the company will release an adapter costing €100 in the beginning of 2016 to support this feature.

Windows 10 Ready to be Downloaded on July 29

Microsoft announced that Windows 10 is ready to be downloaded starting on July 29.  After months of testing and going through users’ feedback and implementing most of them, the product is almost ready to be released to Windows customers as free upgrade to their current Windows OS.

Windows 10 is designed to deliver a more personal computing while protecting the users’ information as well as the integration with other Windows devices such as PC, Laptop, Tablets, smartphones and Xbox One among others. Windows 10 Ready to be Downloaded on July 29

Concept renders for the upcoming and unannounced Microsoft Lumia 940 and the Lumia 940 XL are out which shows both the handset to be coming with aluminum unibody. Both the handsets are shown to be having a sleek look pumped with high-end specs.  The Lumia 940 features 5.2inch Super AMOLED Display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The handset is said to have three storage versions of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. The 32GB version of the handset is said to be powered with a hexa-core chipset while the other two are said to be having a octa-core Snapdragon 815 SoC. The handset is supposed to host a 3GB of RAM memory and the Intel Real Sense would bring 3D capabilities to this smartphone.

To its back, there would be a whopping 25MP PureView camera with a Zeiss lens, 4K recording, triple-tone flash and third-generation OIS. The front-camera would be a 5MP snapper. The device is said to come with the Windows 10 pre-installed along with a 3250mAh of battery life with super charging capabilities.

Its other larger variant the Microsoft Lumia 940 XL would be having a 5.7inch screen with the same QHD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Most of the other specs are almost the same except this handset is said to have a 4GB RAM memory and a larger 3950mAh of battery life along with a support for digital pen.

Microsoft announces Carrier Billing for Apps across all Windows 10 devices

Microsoft’s Build 2015 saw another important announcement made by the Redmond tech giant. During the keynote address, the company revealed that it will expand its carrier billing facility to support all the Windows 10 devices including Windows Tablets and PCs. Currently, carrier billing is available only on Windows smartphones.

You will soon be able to make digital purchases from the Windows marketplace by charging them to your smartphone bill provided your carrier supports it. For this, Microsoft has partnered with 90 mobile operators and their number is expected to grow with time.

Carrier billing is convenient for people who don’t have a credit card for making purchases. This is especially true for emerging markets such as Asia where most of the people have mobile phones but not necessarily a credit or debit card. Carrier billing will make it easy for them to purchase apps and games from the Windows store. Since the price of the apps purchased is charged to your phone bill, these items show up in your phone bill.

This will also help to boost sales of Microsoft’s apps and in-app content. In fact, it has been found that sales of digital content in emerging markets grew eight- fold after carrier billing went live for Windows phones. Developed markets saw a three-fold growth. This number is expected to go up when all Windows devices including Windows-based laptops and PC start supporting it. So apart from the benefit to users, this will also provide an opportunity for developers to make more money.

Microsoft makes it easy to port Android and iOS apps to Windows 10

Microsoft has been steadily losing ground due to its “app gap” and software developers have been moving towards the more accommodating Google Android and the Apple iOS. Windows store comes a poor third after the big two. App gap is the main reason why Windows Phone is not able to grow its market share.

Although Microsoft has claimed that it is a non-issue, it is now working hard to address the issue and get software developers interested in the Windows platform. The company plans to overcome the app gap this year with its universal Windows 10 platform by making it easy for developers to run their Android and iOS apps on Windows and fill up its mobile app store.

Microsoft announced at its BUILD 2015 developer conference, that their new technology will allow developers to re-work their Android or iOS apps with just a few simple lines of code and make them work with Windows 10. Developers will be able to take their Android apps written in Java/C++ code or iOS apps written in Objective C and port them over easily to Windows universal apps that will work on Windows 10 phones, by using Microsoft SDK. They will not have to rebuild their whole apps for the Windows platform.

Microsoft’s Operating Systems Group President Terry Myerson told The Verge, “We want to enable developers to leverage their current code and current skills to start building those Windows applications in the Store, and to be able to extend those applications,“

Developers will also be able to easily integrate their Windows projects with Windows extensions and services like the navigation buttons, virtual keyboard or the location API. The modified Android apps would run in a safe Windows security container that will offer better security.

Microsoft has been testing its new tools with some major developers, for instance King, the developer of the famous ‘Candy Crush Saga’. They have successfully ported the game on Windows phone by converting it’s iOS code using Microsoft’s new technology and with very little modifications. On the stage, the company also showed the Android app for Choice Hotels working well on a Windows Phone with only some minor tweaks.

Well, this is only a beginning and we may soon see Microsoft’s app store filling up and bridging its app gap with two major competitors, Android and iOS.

In its lengthy Keynote at the BUILD 2015 developer conference, Microsoft gave a detailed presentation on the new cross-platform Windows 10 operating system which will run the same app on different devices like the smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktops and TVs. Only the interface will have some changes.

The details disclosed in the keynote included info about Microsoft Edge, the successor to Internet Explorer, as well as demos about assorted HoloLens gear for Mocrosoft’s Windows Holographic augmented reality experience which it is building into Windows 10.

There were quite a few mobile-related announcements too. Microsoft has opened up the Windows platform and made porting of Android and iOS apps to Windows easy. Continuum for Phones was also demonstrated which can transform your smartphone into a desktop when connected to a bigger screen and where you can start apps like PowerPoint, Excel or Outlook from your smartphone and then continue to work on them on larger screens. The Interface adapts to different input methods and the transition between devices is seamless.

However, during the Keynote, Microsoft’s Windows Phone chief Joe Belfiore didn’t show anything much about the actual interface we will have on our Windows 10 phone when it hits the shelves in a few months. But no worries, this deficiency has been removed by a separate official Windows Blog Post explaining the design in detail and demonstrating it with several pictures.

For the design, they have taken an approach similar to the one used for designing a city, first creating a foundation or a grid which maintains the order and standards to make it work and is also flexible enough to allow expression.

Well as for the design, first off there’s the Hamburger control or the Menu icon on the top left corner which is the main navigation element. This position is somewhat unusual as most of us are right handed and hold the phone in our right hand. The Hamburger icon is used as the ‘home’ for an app. Microsoft may allow both hamburger and pivot controls in an app but promises to “display the right control at the right time on the right device.”

The three dots context menu is located on the right hand corner at the bottom. Microsoft has not yet decided whether to arrange the “recent apps” in the taskbar switcher from right to left or the opposite. In a PC, the task order is from left to right while in phones it has traditionally been from right to left. The company is collecting feedback for this before taking any decision about it.

Albert Shum, Design Team lead at Microsoft’s Operating Systems Group says in the blog,” Windows 10 is just the start of a new way of designing and operating. Keep in mind, we’re thinking of Windows 10 “as a service” with a plan to provide ongoing updates and improvements. In particular most of the apps we talked about here will be getting regular updates through the store so you’ll see refinements continue to happen after our broad public availability.”

Microsoft’s Continuum for Phones can turn your Windows 10 phone into a full PC

With Windows 10, Microsoft is focusing on better integration and unifying its rather fragmented operating system to work across all platforms to offer an optimum and seamless experience across all devices. As a part of this process, Microsoft has announced several new features in Windows 10 at its BUILD 2015 developer conference. One of them is the Continuum for Phones feature that will transform a smartphone running Windows 10 into a desktop PC when connected to a bigger screen.

Initially when Microsoft had first presented Windows 10 at its BUILD conference in 2014, it had revealed that its main aim was to unify all the devices running the software. Now with the Continuum feature, developers will find it very easy to make apps that will adjust automatically according to the device. The apps built for Windows 10 will be universal apps which can work on any device from a smartphone, to a PC or a TV.

Microsoft has undertaken a lot of efforts to build the whole software and its no wonder that a smartphone can transform to show a desktop layout when it is connected to a big screen. During the on-going developer conference, Joe Belfiore took to the stage and showed how it works. He hooked up a smartphone to a monitor, keyboard and mouse. Immediately the UI of the phone adapted to the new inputs & outputs.

Although the Interface seen on the screen was not exactly like what Windows 10 looks on a PC, the apps shown did look like it, especially the Power Point. The monitor needs to be an HDMI monitor and you can simply connect your smartphone to it and make any changes you want to your Power Point presentations by using the big screen and the tools as in a PC. Even Excel and Photos worked well on it. According to Belfiore, this feature would work very well when developers build apps that “scale across form factors” and the company is now providing them with tools for it.

“What we’re trying to show here today, is our unique vision for phones and enabling them to scale up to a full PC-like experience,” said Belfiore.

The demonstration by Belfiore was very impressive and it would be interesting to see that apart from Office, what other uses of the Continuum could be.

Well, the Continuum for Phones feature is not going to be available on existing Windows Phones. Smartphones need to comply with certain requirements in order to be compatible with Continuum and able to offer support for a second screen. So this feature will run on new devices that comply with the requirements. Microsoft plans to reveal more details about it soon.

Microsoft Edge, the new Windows 10 browser that can run Chrome extensions, announced

Microsoft is busy developing its next Windows operating system, Windows 10 which is currently in public beta testing and is likely to be released in the middle of 2015. The Windows 10 theme is unification and it will unify all Microsoft devices around a common kernel and will also provide integration with Microsoft’s services and platforms. For this, the company is rebuilding most of its software components including its browser, the Internet Explorer whose time is up anyway.

About three months back, Microsoft had announced Project Spartan, successor to the Internet Explorer, that has a totally new look and feel. Now Microsoft has announced at its BUILD 2015 event that Project Spartan will be known as Microsoft Edge. That’s right, Microsoft’s new web browser will now be Microsoft Edge and it will come as a default browser with Windows 10. The company says that Microsoft Edge will be available “on the widest range” of devices running Windows 10.

One good thing about the new browser is that it is not just old IE with a new makeover. The new Microsoft Edge is totally new and different and is bound to provide tough competition to Google’s Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Opera. Microsoft Edge preview shows that it has several unique features and functions which Microsoft surely hopes will click with the users and pay rich dividends.

Microsoft Edge has Cortana digital voice assistant and OneDrive integrated into it. It will also offer annotation tools allowing users to type, draw or write notes directly on a web page and then save or share it. There’s also the ‘reading mode’ that removes unnecessary formatting from pages and improves their readability.

Edge’s New Tab page is worth mentioning. It’s screen is filled with a number of shortcut tiles and widgets giving you info like latest news, weather or some apps you might like. On the top of the page you will see a list of sites you visit most.

Microsoft Edge will also support Chrome and Firefox extensions. With just some minor modification in code, existing extensions can be brought to Edge. During the event, this feature was demonstrated successfully with extensions for Pintrest and Reddit.

The Edge will release with Windows 10 in mid-2015. Microsoft’s new browser sure seems to have some great features with a new UI and may prove to be a powerful alternative to Chrome and Firefox. However, only time will tell.

Acer to introduce a new Windows 10 smartphone at MWC alongside a new Android-powered Jade phone and a wearable device

As the Mobile World Congress 2015 is drawing closer, we are getting more and more news about the devices that will be showcased there. There is also a mounting curiosity and excitement about what other surprises the event will bring. Well, the news from Taiwanese company Acer is that it is going to introduce a brand new Windows 10 smartphone at the MWC.

Taiwanese company Acer is better known for its PCs and Laptops but it has also been rolling out a few smartphones over the years. A majority of its phones have been Android-based and very few were Windows-based, that too before Windows Phones came on the scene. Acer is now back in the Windows phone market after more than three years with its new Windows 10 smartphone at the MWC. Along with it, the company is also set to release a new Android-based Jade series smartphone and a new wearable device.

There is no information about specs, pricing or availability of the Acer Windows 10 phone. Windows 10 was officially launched in September last year but Microsoft is still giving some finishing touches to it and the OS only will be released in fall this year. So Acer’s Windows 10 smartphone will probably become available after that.

Windows 10 to support both – Tiles Wallpaper and Start Background

Depending on the type of device, users just need to switch modes. The company has now introduced a new desktop background system in Windows 10 for phones. The application Tiles have been made even more transparent and the wallpaper can now spread in the background space. However, there have been mixed review for this from Windows Phone users as some of them would like this more while some preferred the earlier way in Windows 8.1 wherein the selected image would be displayed on a tiles instead of behind.

In the Technical Preview of Windows 10 for Phones, the company has promised a complete background for this. On being asked on the previous version of this feature, company CEO Joe Belfiore said that Microsoft would be providing both these options in its upcoming Windows 10 release. Thus users will get an option to choose between “in tiles wallpaper”, “full background” and “no background”. Well, the company is quite reaching to its users and customers welcoming all the necessary feedbacks and bringing it to their convenience.

First leaked screenshots of Windows 10 for Phones shows net notification interface and settings

Last month Microsoft at an even announced that its will be working upon the unification of Widows 10 on al platforms of laptop, tablets and smartphones. The version for smartphones to be referred as Windows 10 for Phones. It also showed how the OS will look different for different devices through its switching modes. Although, it will be sharing the same kernel across all devices and there would be an common app store that would help Windows app developers to a great extent.

Now some of the screen shots showing up the technical preview of Windows 10 for Phones have been leaked confirming what Microsoft said in its presentation. In addition to the Universal tied interface, a new notification system was also seen, that too would be synced across tablets, laptops and phones. Deleting the notification will remove it from all gears. The new toggles menu shows up taps for silent mode, GPS and rudimentary settings menu. Additionally, Windows 10 for Phones is also said to include the complete mobile version for Excel, Word and PowerPoint. The Office ribbon has been downsized for smaller display. Miracast will further help in beaming presentations wirelessly to a connected printer.

The live tiles have got more color to it with providing real-time information. Users would also be able to add backgrounds besides them. Universal apps have also been in work that would work across all hardware platforms like laptops, tablets, phones wherein an interface icons and menus are to be adjusted to fit different screen scenarios like touch, small, large and so on. The technical preview for Windows 10 is likely to be available to developers this month and so we can expect more leaks coming our way. Take a look at the screenshots below.

Microsoft integrating Skype into Windows 10 which will be a lot like Apple’s iMessage

Microsoft is integrating Skype Messenger into its Windows 10, which will allow users to chat or make audio/video calls to Skype contacts. The Verge says it looks similar to Apple’s iMessage and with this, the software giant revives the built-in messaging app in Windows 8 that died a sudden death in Windows 8.1 update.

At its Windows 10 press event in Redmond, Microsoft had revealed some details of its Skype integration but did not demo the new Skype messenger app on Windows 10 PC version. The new messaging app looks much like a lighter version of Skype and all conversations between phones, tablets and PCs are synced. This app also has the same circular window for contact photos and 2-panel interface like the messaging app in OS X.

Microsoft has already begun to link Skype usernames and mobile numbers so that you can easily find your friends who are using Skype even if you don’t know their user ID. Skype users will be able to chat easily with friends using this service, much like the iMessage. However, the advantage here is that since Skype is cross-platform, you can also chat with friends who are using Android, iOS, Windows, Blackberry and other devices while iMessage works only on Apple platform.

Windows 10 devices including phones, tablets and PCs will have Skype built into its communications suite. The phone version will allow users to send text messages too. It is also likely that Microsoft will offer this facility and sync state to the PC version as is available in iMessage because Windows 10 apps are going to be the same for PCs, tablets and phones.

Microsoft hasn’t revealed much about its plans for the Skype Messaging app, but as the company is going in for a simple integration of the Messaging app, using Skype is also going to be simple – just with your mobile number rather than complicated usernames.

Project Spartan gives farewell to Internet Explorer

Project Spartan is the new official browser for Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 10 OS. Microsoft is giving farewell to its Internet Explorer by switching to brand new look and feel. It is simple, modern, flat, feels perfect in context of its new Windows 10 OS and corresponding universal applications.

Project Spartan is coming with three substantial new features, explained below.

Cortana with prompt results

Project Spartan is also going to have smart assistant alike its internal Windows 10 OS. Cortona integration starts when users write something with contextual meaning. By typing ‘weather’, users would be able to see weather forecast details. While typing ‘Delta’, user would get information about their upcoming Delta Airlines flight without actual searching. It is promising much faster experience giving a nightmare to their Mountain View counterparts. Cortana also notifies information about different places: contacts, directions, hotels, gas stations, restaurant menus and many more.

Note-taking

Project Spartan provides note-taking feature to write down notes on top of web pages. Users can also draw on the screen with their fingers and can add comments anywhere on a webpage. All the corrresponding doodling gets saved and can be easily shared and synced with OneNote.

Reading mode

Microsoft has brought offline reading list feature like we have in apps like Pocket. The ‘yet-to-be’ read pages list syncs across all the smartphones, laptops and tablets.

The final touch we want to highlight is the new definition feature appearing after right clicking on any word. Now we hope Project Spartan integrates Google Translate feature for automatic translation of pages in near future.

Windows 10 with universal apps n new notification system

Unification is the main theme for Microsoft in designing its new Windows OS. The latest Windows 10 presentation supports that the OS will be sharing a common kernel and common app store across all its devices. This looks out to be a relief among all annoyed Windows app developers.

The title Universal touch-friendly interface is changed and now pops up center and front only after detaching the screen section of the convertible device. The interface will stay out of the way if the keyboard is attached in laptop mode. The below demonstration by Microsoft showcases how the new universal notification system is synced across laptops, smartphones and tablets. Deleting a notification will reflect simultaneous changes in all other gears too. The new Toggle menu is added which taps for silent mode, GPS and a simple primary settings menu.

Microsoft has announced its latest innovation, the Windows Holographic. It is an augmented reality experience that the company is building into Windows 10. Windows Holographic is “dreaming beyond virtual worlds – beyond screens” that will blend your digital life into your real world. And for this, the company has come out with a headset, Microsoft Hololens, which is similar to a VR headset but has certain additional features.

Microsoft Hololens is described as the “most advanced holographic computer the world has ever seen”. The Hololens has a dark visor at the front featuring a see-through display. It has spatial sound that allows you to “hear” holograms when they are behind you.

It has a built-in CPU, GPU and a special holographic processing unit (HPU). “The HPU gives us the ability to understand where you’re looking, to understand your gestures, to understand your voice, to spatially map your environment, to run without wires … all in real-time,” said Microsoft. This means the Microsoft Hololens works as a standalone unit which doesn’t need connectivity to a phone or a PC.

Microsoft demoed the power of Windows Holographic and the Microsoft HoloLens on stage where a virtual 3D quadrocopter was built by using the HoloStudio app and some finger pointing and voice commands. This quadrocopter was then printed on a 3D printer creating a real-world version of a digital creation. The HoloStudio app also allows you to ‘print preview’ your creation before 3D printing it.

It seems the developers have already started working on apps for Windows Holographic. It would be interesting to see what they come up with. Unfortunately, Microsoft Hololens is still in its early stages of development but Microsoft says it will become available “in the Windows 10 timeframe.”

This recent leaked image of the Windows 10 Store has given rise to a lot of assumptions. But until the parties involved have given a word about it, we can only keep on guessing on the possibilities. Apparently the unauthorized photo imparts that it might offer an HTC Windows Phone app or maybe more. The app in discussion is called Make More Space, which is designed to send notification when the free storage space of an HTC branded Windows Phone is low. After getting the warning, the user can delete apps and content from his mobile phone.

Another theory that was made due to the leaked image was that HTC might be working on Windows 10-utilized handsets. And this belief was somehow strengthened by the brand’s upcoming flagship phone also known as HTC Hima, which was also rumoured to be supported by Windows Phone.

As of now, and another unconfirmed story, Windows 10 for mobile is going through testing on mobile phones inside Microsoft. The latest OS is said to be released 3^rd quarter of 2015 being the earliest. We have some wonderful news to all Lumia owners around the world. Today Microsoft announced via its Twitter account that all Windows Phone 8-based Lumia smartphones will be treated to the upcoming Windows 10 OS next year.

The next Windows platform which was recently announced is said to be made compatible with all PCs, tablets and handsets with just one installation needed. The OS is currently in development and is said to be released sometime next year.

It seems that after the acquisition of Nokia, Microsoft is really taking up its mobile business more attentively bringing its update to three year old handsets even with a bit smaller RAM. Earlier when Microsoft has announced its Windows Phone 8 and ditched all the WP7 phones, it was a move that was not appreciated by its fans and had even caused to some extent the popularity of Windows Phone OS. Now, it has been announced officially that the next Windows Operating System is ‘Windows 10’ and not Windows 9, as previously suggested.

One rumor about the OS is true – the Microsoft has announced unification of all the devices having Windows. Smartphone, laptop, tablets or desktop, any device that has Windows will be unified. The next Redmond’s mobile OS will also be called as Windows 10 or Windows Phone 10.

Microsoft further announced that the new Windows would be compatible with management programs; it has been said to provide separation of the corporate and personal data, store customize and claimed it to be the “greatest enterprise platform, ever”.

Windows phones will not have Desktop but their designing will be done by keeping Windows unification in mind. Even though the OS will be very similar but it may look different in various devices. Modern interface, formerly which was renowned as Metro, has now been renamed; it will now be known as ‘Universal’ which shows Microsoft’s objective.

The company has not revealed much about the Universal apps now. The unveiling of the details is expected in April, 2015. The only known information about these apps is that they will run on desktop devices and user can have them in Windows.

Corporate VP of the Operating Systems Group, Joe Belfiore, is optimistic about this new blending experience for the users and hoping positive outcomes. But only the time can tell the success of this unification because we cannot expect the same from the phone as from the PCs.
