Apple Curved iPhone Rumored Released by 2018

Apple is rumored to release a curved iPhone by 2018. On top of that, the technology company is rumored to use OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) as the screen of the iPhone’s in the future. With this move, hopefully, it can solve the existing issue which plagued the current iPhone’s screen display including color saturation, accuracy and brightness. It is not surprising that Apple has patented this to USPTO just in case.

If Apple uses OLED –based flexible screen in the future, it will have a positive impact to the manufacturing companies out there since Apple has not done it before so it is expected that there will be a lot of order from the company. Currently Apple is using flexible OLED screens for Apple Watch which the display is supplied by LG Display and Samsung Display.

LG Display, one of Apple major display supplier has released its own flagship smartphone with flexible display in G Flex 2.  LG plans to move its LCD lines in Gumi factory to OLED line so that the company is ready to do mass production in case there is a huge demand for it. It is expected that the mass production will start in 2017.

Samsung on the other hand, has started to use curved screen display in their flagship smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge which was released earlier this year.  We cannot wait to try the final product!

From the design to its hardware, most of the things were just the same with an addition of the finger-print Touch ID fingerprint sensor. This has helped in using the slate for making payments through Apple Pay.

Now these days there are much rumors in the market floating about the next mini version of iPad most probably to be named as the iPad mini 4. The slate has been previously leaked in its few images and video in the past months and also in some of the alleged casing of the device. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Latest Leaks with No Edge Variant

Samsung has released a few devices this year, including Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. It is reported that the Korean technology company is going to release another device, Galaxy Note 5 before the end of the year. Unfortunately, despite the rumor of an edge display version, Galaxy Note 5 is leaked to be released without the “Edge” version unlike Samsung Galaxy S6. If the rumors turned out to be true, we will not see two versions of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 but we will only see 1 version of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 with the normal squarish display shape.

What is the “Edge” part of the display screen supposed to do? The “Edge” part of the screen is supposed to show additional information such as favorite apps or running apps or notifications and we could see it from the side of the smartphone. Therefore, if the smartphone vibrate or ring and it is located at the edge of the table, far enough for us to see the screen on top but near enough for us to see the edge, and then we can see the notification without having to lift the devices from the table.

According to various sources, Galaxy Note 5 will feature 5.89-inch QHD display screen with 2560 x 1440 resolutions. It will be 7.9mm thick and will be running on Samsung’s latest processor, Exynos 7422 SoC. On top of that it will come with S-Pen like the previous versions of Samsung devices. There will be dual SIM variants for certain regions. Currently, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is tested on Android 5.1.1 with TouchWiz, however, there is no information of the Android OS version which is going to be pre-installed on the device when it is released to public.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is rumored to be released in September.

OnePlus 2 Smartphone Confirmed to Come with USB Type-C Port

Google made an announcement in its annual developer conference that USB Type-C would be the standard for Android devices in the future. Why USB Type-C? It is because the port is smaller, able to support reversible charging as well as it is more convenient than the current MicroUSB ports which we have in our device nowadays. On top of that, the data transfer will also be faster, up to 10Gbps, with USB Type-C port.

OnePlus announced recently that its flagship product OnePlus 2 is going to feature USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. If the rumor deemed to be true, that means that OnePlus 2 will be the first smartphone which will come with the new USB port. Apart from the new USB Type-C port, the device is rumored to run on Snapdragon 810 version 2.1 processor,  13 MP rear camera and will be priced higher than the rumored $322 price tag previously.

Apart from OnePlus 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is rumored to come with USB Type-C port as well, on top of the rumor that the device will come pre-installed with Google’s latest OS, Android M. Apple’s latest MacBook Air which was launched recently, also comes with USB-C port. It seems like Apple and Google are using the same USB standard now, which is a good thing.

Apple Reported Working on TDDI In-House for the Next iPhone Smartphone

Apple is reported to be developing Touch and Display Driver Integration (TDDI) in house for the next iPhone smartphone. The TDDI single chip solution is expected to come with integrated fingerprint sensor as well. Therefore for the next iPhone, there will be no more physical Home button, instead, the screen itself will have dual functionality, one is to unlock the device while another one is as navigational purposes.

In the recent years, Apple had already done some development internally. With the expansion of the in-house development by Apple, it is likely to make a huge impact on the external semi conductor companies worldwide. One thing for sure is that the order from the giant technology company will decrease than the previous years. However, if there is a huge demand from the consumer, it is most likely that Apple will need to outsource the manufacturing part to other companies to help them to fulfill the demands. Global semiconductor companies are also going through some changes. Since the beginning of this year, there are several big companies which merged or acquitted by other company. This includes Avago’s acquisition of Broadcom which is also one of the major Apple suppliers.

The next iPhone smartphone is rumored to be thinner and bigger display with the removal of Home button. However, nothing can be confirmed until now.
