The World’s First 7-inch Smartphone, Blu Studio 7.0 is only $149!

Blu Studio 7.0 is now tagged as the ‘world’s first 7-inch smartphone’. This ground-breaking device was manufactured by Blu, a US-based company designing its handsets in Miami and assembling in China. Today devices with screens size similar with Blu Studio 7.0 are considered phablets or tablets which can also function as a phone. You must be a little surprised that it is very affordable even with its multi-functionality. But what can we realistically expect from a 7-inch smartphone that is only $149?

The thing is it has decent features but you cannot really set the bars high. Considering its reasonable value, what was invested on its size seemed to be knocked off from its other features. In short, it fell short on quality compared to similar devices on the market.

The Blu Studio 7.0 comes in blue, grey, gold and white with a perforated back like Samsung’s sports a 600 x 1024 pixel resolution display with a poor 169 ppi density. However, it has redeemed itself as it operates with the latest Android 4.4 Kitkat. It houses a dual-core 1.3 GHz MediaTek processor with 1GB of RAM. It has an acceptable 5 MP rear autofocus camera with LED flash and a 2 MP front snapper. It has 8 GB of expandable storage space and uses a 3000 mAh battery.

Its main highlight being its huge dimension, it measures 187.5 x 103 x 9.4 mm and weighs 294 grams. It is already up for grabs in Amazon. It is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile and other GSM networks in the US.

Would you consider getting yourself one of these?

Rumors show Apple working on a 4-inch iPhone and 12.9inch iPad for 2015

Well, earlier this year Apple released its 4.7inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5inch iPhone 6 Plus that is still the largest selling device in the market. However, in case you are missing the 4inch iPhone, we would like to let you know that your wait could end in the coming year. Recently Apple Investors received a note from analyst Timothy Arcuri that claims that the company is currently working on a possible “iPhone 6s mini” which would having the same design pattern as that of the iPhone 6 and would deliver the power like that of iPhone 5s. This means that the successor to the not so successful iPhone 5c could be coming next year. Rumors also say that Apple might make use of Qualcomm chipset to reduce its cost.

Apple went to its big sized screen for its iPhone 6 looking at the customer demands but it seems that the company is yet not ready to remove its 4inch option. For all the Apple loyalists who have loved the 4inch smartphones from the company having a smaller form factor, this could prove to be a freat news for them and that too at some cheaper cost.

In addition to the smart, Acruri has also suggested that the Cupertino giant is also currently working on a 12.9inch iPad that could be released some time in Spring 2015. According to the analyst this larger tablet with fresh new look could turn out to be hot selling device for the company with a 15 to 20 million of initial shipments. However, earlier this month there were rumors for a 12.2 inch iPad Air Plus from Apple with a possible release in Q2 of 2015.

Mid-ranger BlackBerry Rio (Z20) with full touch screen gets rumored

A new mid-ranger handset from BlackBerry reportedly seems to be on cards. Dubbed as the BlackBerry Rio, this is a full touch screen handset and the claimed specs show it somewhat to be falling a mid-range handset segment. According to BlackBerry the Rio or Z20 aims at “Power Pros who want to be considered by others as being current with technology, yet cost is a major consideration in their purchase decision.” That quite seems to be the enlarge version of the “Affordable flagship” motto from Microsoft.

The BlackBerry Rio or the Z20 comes with a 5” display having 720p resolution and is said to be powered with a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset supported with 2GB of RAM memory. To its back is the 8MP primary camera while its front would have a 2MP secondary camera. The device is said to be having a 16GB of internal expandable storage and the battery juice is sufficient with 2800mAh.

The handset is tipped to be arriving in the midrange arena in 2015 next year. However one thing here in its specs that would surprise you as well is that with many 64-bit quad-core chipsets being planted in the affordable mid-range segment for next year, we doubt whether the BlackBerry Rio with a dual-core processor would at all survive the competition. But still nothing is official at the moment and hence rather jumping to conclusions lets wait for few more concrete news to come our way.
