Caterpillar"s CatB15Q will be available worldwide in this summer





Caterpillar has always been in news for releasing some of the toughest Android smart-phones out in the market. Usually, company’s most of the products were available in the US market but, its forthcoming CatB15Q rugged Android smart-phone will change this routine and will be available worldwide. This device is considered to align with the requirements of hard-working consumers.

As  Oliver Schulte, COO of Cat phones explains this need of strong smart-phones, “With the Cat B15Q we have taken consumer feedback on board from its predecessor and added, for example, a faster processor and improved imaging capabilities. This is the first rugged handset available globally to support Android’s KitKat so users no longer need to choose between smartphone durability and the latest Android features. The B15Q is a key milestone to Cat phones becoming the number one global rugged device vendor by 2015.”

The phone will be working on Android 4.4 KitKat platform and will have a 4-inch display protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass.At the heart of the gadget, MediaTek MT6577 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz will provide an impressive support at 1GB RAM .While internal storage is of 4 GB only,it is expandable up to 64 GB .Let’s come to the camera support of this strong piece of work.It is packed with a 5MP autofocus LED flash at back while front will have a VGA performance camera. Accelerometer, Proximity, Ambient Light sensors will be embedded on the device while battery will have specification of 2000mAh,which makes phone a 170g stubborn device.














The main characteristic of this device is its toughness. Caterpillar has assured that this model is capable enough to endure stormy weather or falling from as high as 1.8 meters without any dent. It is IP67 certified which tells about it that it has been verified and examined to survive being inundated under 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. It also has received a Military Standard 810G certification which examines the device for shock and drop, temperature, and category 4 vibrations. The phone as it appears is designed for people working in tough environments.


Apart of that, the Cat B15Q also owns a high-quality audio sound due to its use of Waves Audio technology, hence providing a 16.3 hour talk time.As it is predicted to be available in summer ,the pricing is still not communicated yet.
