Earlier this week, Samsung announced the price and specs of their newest budget phone in the Galaxy Core lineup, the Galaxy Core II, which will come pre-installed with Android KitKat (4.4.2) operating system. The phone will have the latest TouchWiz UI interface and is announced to be retailed/sold for €179.
It was a little over a year ago that the 1st Core with 4.3-inches display was announced. And even though both the 1st Core and Core II resemble Galaxy S-series in design, the later comes with quite a lot of new features and improvements.
To mention some of the new features that Samsung introduced on Core II, the screen size of the phone is a bit larger than its predecessor and will have a size of 4.5 inches with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. It will also weigh a bit heavier having a weight of 138 grams.
The phone will come with two color options which are white and black. It will also feature leather-like back plate which gives it a slick and smooth look.
In terms of camera, the phone will sport 5MP LED main camera with lots of features as well as a VGA front-facing camera.
When it comes to functionality, the headset will have a fast 1200 MHz Quad core processor as well as a RAM capacity of 768 MB, which isn’t too bad for a low cost headset. In fact, the phone is faster and more powerful than its predecessor as well as many other phones with equivalent spec sheets. Its 4 GB internal storage is expandable to up to 68 GB through the use of microSD cards and its battery has 2000 mAh capacity.
Below is an overview of the specs of the phone:
Operating System: Android KitKat 4.4.2
Weight: 138 grams
Display: 4.5-inches with 480 x 800 pixels resolution (207 ppi pixel density)
Main camera: 5 MP

Aside from that, also announced were two other new budget phones namely Galaxy Ace 4 and Galaxy Young 2 both running Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) operating system.
The Ace 4 will have a 4.0-inches display with 320 x 480 pixel screen resolution and will weigh 123.8 grams. The phone will also have a 5 MP LED rear camera, 4 GB internal storage capacity, and 1.0 GHz dual-core processor and will be sold with a price of €219.

There is no information as far as when these phones will become available on the market except that they’re expected to be in the coming few months.
