Apple receives samples of the 14nm A9 chipset from Samsung

As with the rumors followed back from August, it seems that the samples for the next Apple processor the A9 chipset have started arriving at the doors of the Cupertino giant Apple from Samsung. According to a Korean publication, the chips have been received from the semiconductor plant of Samsung in Austin, Texas. The reports show that the Korean giant has been successful in winning the trust of Apple through its 14nm FinFET production process, while the 16nm chipsets from TMSC are likely to enter into mass production in the second quarter of 2015.

This means that there would be two companies involved in the mass production of the Apple chipset but it seems that the more advanced and enhanced chip making technologies used by both the companies might probably end up even boosting the features for iPhone 6s/iPhone 7.

It is said that with this new production process involved there would be a significant drop in the power consumption with more enhanced performance delivered. The upcoming 14nm chipset from Samsung is expected to boost up the performance by 20% with 35% reduction in power consumption. We expect some more processing prowess and much enhanced graphic integration as well with the new chipset.
