We’re just two weeks away from the Google I/O developer event where the first Android Wear smartwatches are expected to debut. Samsung is one and they are apparently not losing momentum in wearable segments. The new model number SM-R382 of a wearable device has been spotted on the FCC website confirming the launching date soon.

According to the FCC listing, the SM-R382 is certainly a smartwatch, but it remains to be seen if this is the rumored Gear 2 Solo, a SIM-enabled variant of the Gear 2 that is expected to launched next to the Galaxy Note 4 in September, or else it is the Android Wear-based Galaxy Wear that Samsung has confirmed. Reportedly, it is found that the SM-R382 is around 10mm smaller than the Gear 2 in height, indicating the watch not having a hard home button or camera. The SM-R382 device featuring Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity has already passed through the Bluetooth certification.

Samsung Inc. seems to be striking out on its own with Tizen in wearable devices. There are always more developers for Android than Tizen, concluding that if the company skips Android Wear entirely, it could miss out on apps for its own wearable device. The company has not revealed about the price and availability of the device. Sources are hinting that SM-R382 will be the third Android Wear device that Google will show off at Google I/O. Stay tuned to Doi-Toshin for further updates.

WSJ agrees with arrival of standalone Samsung smartwatch

Since the early April when market was overflowed with the rumours of  a possible Samsung smart-watch which won’t need any smart-phone for connectivity. The alleged Samsung Gear Solo (or Gear 2 Solo) presumed to be a reasonable enough device for Samsung to showcase. At present, the device looks to be an official one as confirmed in a new report from The Wall Street Journal.

The Journal didn’t come up with the name “Solo”, but as the report claims, Samsung is working on a standalone smart-watch running Tizen which will be capable enough to place and receive calls, moreover send an email, and you don’t need to tether it to a smart-phone. There is a possibility that it won’t be called “Solo” .It will be part of the Tizen-powered Samsung Gear line-up, rather than the Android-powered brand like Galaxy Gear. The gadget will have other utilities like that we’ve experienced in the Gear line including Bluetooth, GPS, a heart rate monitor, and a camera.

Apparently, Samsung has already a discussion going on with wireless-carriers in the South Korea, US, and Europe to promote the device to market. Samsung is strategizing to publicize the gadget in either June or July with a release probable for upcoming the summer. As far as price and specification is concerned there is not yet any declaration from their side.

Samsung Gear 2 might show up with cellular connectivity

About two months ago, all the fuss about a Samsung smartwatch with built-in cellular connectivity has caught the fire again. As per the Korean media, the advanced version of Samsung Gear 2 will showcase a SIM card-slot.As predicted, it will be possible to handle phone-calls on its own, which was not seen in the Gear 2 model.

When the report was published, no strong facts were available to support the same, but now, it looks like they were not just rumours.   A Samsung gadget with a model-name SM-R710 has come under the notice on Zauba – a web-site that keeps eye on packages going in and out of India. As the description appears to be, the device can serve as a mobile phone. It gives a small hint that Samsung Gear 2 Solo might be its authorized name.

Apart of that, the item suits the Samsung’s scheme for naming convention for wearables (because the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo has the identities like SM-R380 and SM-R381 respectively). So, it appears to be quite plausible to assume SM-R710 as a smartwatch.   we will try our level best to focus on such small hints for the gadget as there are many fans growing across the globe.
