Now Tizen Cafe, a Korean website, has posted some images of the Samsung Z3 (model no. SM-Z300H and build no. Z300HDDD1BOG1) running Tizen 3.0, on Twitter. Although the Samsung Z3 will supposedly run Tizen 2.4 when it is launched, these images showing the handset running the 3.0 version indicate that the company will probably update the handset’s version from 2.4 to 3.0 soon after launch.

The images show the Samsung Z3 to be a dual SIM smartphone, the screen seems larger that the Z1’s 4-inch display. It is rumored that the Z3 will sport a 5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Under the hood it will apparently have a quad-core 1.3 GHz Spreadtrum SC7730S CPU, a 1.5GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, an 8MP primary camera and a 5MP selfie camera. The handset will be powered by a 2,600 mAh battery. These specs may make Samsung’s Tizen-based Z3 more acceptable to the consumers.

Google believes Samsung’s new phones can support two mobile payment systems

Samsung has been one of Google’s key Android partners but it did go ahead and develop its indigenous operating system Tizen. Google was reportedly irked when Samsung decided to use Tizen OS for its smartwatches. Now there may be discontent brewing between the two tech giants again as Samsung has purchased the mobile wallet company LoopPay. Samsung is expected to incorporate LoopPay’s mobile payment system in its new flagship Galaxy S6 that is likely to be unveiled on March 1 at the MWC 2015 in Barcelona.

Google has been making several improvements in its Google Wallet to make it popular but it is not yet picking up speed among Android users. Acquisition of LoopPay by Samsung has dashed Google’s hopes for a single mobile payment system for the Android platform. David Eun, Samsung’s head of Global Innovation Center said that although Google is “a super-important strategic partner” Samsung has to remain committed to its customers by “creating the different experiences and devices that they want.”

Google Wallet and LoopPay both work differently. Google Wallet and Apple Pay both use NFC based payment systems which need special terminals. On the other hand, LoopPay uses a magnetic stripe on its card to store information. Users can keep this card inside the phone case and payment can be made by just taping the phone at the terminal. About 90% of payment terminals already support LoopPay while there are very few stores outfitted with NFC terminals.

Well, if efforts of both Google and Samsung succeed, Samsung’s new smartphone could end up offering both the payment services, which could then be quite confusing to some of the users according to Tim Sloane, a payments analyst at Mercator Advisory Group. A source familiar with Google’s way of thinking says that the company may be ok with this double payment system. According to him, Google believes that multiple payments apps can co-exist in one phone.

New Tizen Devices Will Join Samsung Family This Year

New Tizen Devices Will Join Samsung Family This Year

After releasing the first ever Tizen smartphone Z1, Samsung started to work on the bigger plans and now the company has explained much about their newcomers and the list is huge.

Samsung said that in the year of 2015, the company would release a flood of the Tizen devices. Apparently much will not be Tizen smartphones and more will be Tizen-based wearables (Tizen-based circular smartwatch), smart appliances, TVs, cameras and other devices.

Samsung stated that one of the advantages of the Tizen is that it is a lighter operating system as compared to others; also it takes less storage memory and processes with less power hence it makes the device to work faster and consumes less energy.

In Samsung’s Internet of Things (IoT), Tizen will play a major role; it has been planned by the company to make nearly all its devices IoT-ready in the five years of future out of which most of these devices will be using Tizen as an operating system.

It is not a surprise but Samsung has also stated that with its focus on the new operating system Tizen, the company will not let go of other operating systems like Windows and Android.

It looks like beliefs of Huawei were wrong and Tizen is not near to failure. It is still evident that it would be a struggle for Tizen in the field of smartphones but only that can be told by upcoming future.
