LG G Flex 2 goes official at CES 2015: Complete specs review and Images

Well, after a lot of talk and rumor buzzing, the LG G Flex 2 has been finally announced at an LG event at the CES 2015. There are many subtle changes that have been introduced as compared to its previous version, however at the moment lets head on to the detailed specs for the device the enwraps the beauty.

Display and Design

The official punch line “redefining the curve” says mostly about it but there is a lot more to it (on the technical part) than what meets the eye. Covering the top surface is the plastic OLED screen or what is said to be the P-OLED screen. This new technology differs from the regular OLED displays wherein plastic is introduced with an encapsulating glass substrate. The protective glass shield doesn’t come from Corning but is the company’s own made through the chemical bath enrichment process that offers 20% more durability. The curved shape allows full-on screen impact offers more longevity of the display. Here is an image that shows the comparison between the two G Flex models.

More-compact-and-flexible-design

Looking to the size of the display the screen has dropped to 5.5inches from the 6inch screen size of the LG G Flex. Moreover, the screen resolution has now increased form 720p HD to 1080p full HD offering an excellent 401ppi density. Moreover, LG has also worked upon the curves of the handset that snugly fits to the hands. The excellent feature is the self-healing back cover. LG has further improved upon this concept wherein the self-healing effect gets applied within 10 seconds after some minor scratches. Check the video below to understand this.

Snapdragon 810 processing power, Android Lollipop and connectivity

This is the first smartphone on the planet that bakes the newly released 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. This Snapdragon 810 comes with an octa-core configuration with stunning clock speeds of up to 2GHz. This chip has also got the 2GB LPDDR4 RAM which comes with faster bandwidths. The device runs the latest released 64 bit Google system Android 5.0 Lollipop skinned with the LG’s own UI with some animations and pastel tones. The handset comes in two storage options of 16GB and 32GB along with a microSD card slot for 128GB of expandable memory.

The device has some pretty good connectivity options on-board with Cat 6 LTE connectivity with downlink speeds up to 300Gbps. Additionally, it also includes the dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, SlimPort, Bluetooth Smart Ready, USB 2.0 and GPS/Glonass.

Camera and Battery Life

The LG G Flex 2 comes with a 13MP primary camera to its back with OIS+(optical image stabilization) along with laser auto-focus. The hardware is similar to the one offered in last year’s flagship LG G3. The camera to the front is the 2.1MP secondary snapper.

The battery charges unleashes the QuickCharge facility that arrives with the Snapdragon chipset. The battery juice offered is 3000mAh and also supports high-speed charging with up to 50 percent charging in just 40 minutes with the charger available in the box.

We can say that even if it doesn’t host the perfect high-end flagship specs, it still is an excellent device from all perspectives. Check out all the available images for the device.
