Xiaomi Redmi 2 goes official with 64 bit chipset: Official Images

As per the scheduled date for January 4th, yesterday Chinese handset manufacturer Xiaomi finally launched the much awaited Xiaomi Redmi 1S successor officially named as the Xiaomi Redmi 2.


Looking straight away to its specs, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 comes with a 4.7inch display having 720×1280 pixel resolution. The chipset has now been replaced with the more powerful variant that is the 64-bit Snapdragon 410 supported with a topped up Adreno 306 GPU. The RAM memory still remains the same with 1GB and internal native storage stands to 8GB with a 64GB of expandable memory via microSD card slot. The camera options have been kept same with 8MP of primary camera to its back and 2MP of secondary snapper to its front. The handset comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat pre-installed and has a battery back-up of 2200mAh.


The company has worked up a lot on the connectivity options for the handset with multiple carrier LTE connectivity networks. The good thing is that the handset supports LTE FDD, GSM, WCDMA and TD LTE. The handset will be made available in multiple color options like blck, white, yellow, green and pink. You can choose the best that suits your style.


The smartphone can be currently pre-ordered for a price of $112.60 USD. The handset would be launched officially on January 9th. Take a look at all the official images of the device.
